  1. Heavy Hail shower and gusty winds just went through south Cambridge. Turned everything white for 5 minutes
  2. I’m just south of Cambridge today. Hail, loud thunder and lightning.
  3. Sunny and warm on a Saturday here. I’m in shock
  4. Torrential rain still ongoing here since I woke up at 6am. Fields, ground, rivers etc must be at capacity now. (Numerous flood warnings out) We really need a dry, hot summer to sort this… Farmer back of my house says it’s worse it’s been since ‘2014’
  5. Back when there was no fear of yellow or amber warnings Back when there was not a name giving to a low pressure system claiming it is a storm Back when, before social media hype took over **The good ole days** "Picture --- UK WINTER 1963 SE England--- Postman still made it...."
  6. A wet, mild afternoon in Bedfordshire. Yet more rain on bogged, flooded ground. Really hope we get a hot, dry summer to make up for yet another, Soaked drenched UK winter
  7. Froze were the Days Yes the home page is officially cringe. Polar Airmass???? WHAT. Its almost as bad as a 2 week dry spell in the middle of summer declaring a drought. This country has to be one of the most OTT weather event publications going.....
  8. You know this winter is bad when Stav on Latest beeb forecast refers to 10c in London and 8c in Edinburgh as 'COLD'. Other countries must laugh at us
  9. Beautiful February afternoon here, Temps at 14c If no snow than would much rather this type of weather than Atlantic wet crud.
  10. As is Bedfordshire. Absolutely no talk in the office this morning of last nights wind gusts. No wonder Joe public don't take warnings seriously, when the impact across the country is isolated incidents. Wish we could go back to the good ole days when a Windy day was just a Windy day instead of the media hype and naming windy periods as a storm.
  11. Are these wind gusts expected to get stronger through the night? nothing out of the ordinary here just a very windy evening. Just drove back from my mums and traffic, roads are fine! Didn’t even see a wheelie bin on its side.
  12. Dreading the return of the Atlantic Mild Wet Wet Wet. Been nice to walk the dogs on frozen mud, all change from the weekend, back to muddy boots and the dogs giving me dirty looks while rinsing paws or a full on shower down after a their walk....
  13. Watching Look East last night and they had a whole segment on this so called cold spell. Temps of -2c and a gritter lorry for frost. Look east described it as an Icy Cold period. Other countries must laugh and laugh at us. I guess anything to fill a news bulletin to keep up the narrative
  14. 12c here forecast for this time next week. Until then a sunny, Cold and dry week ahead. Shame about no snow, but as a Brit of 41 years it’s no surprise.
  15. Colder air should be here by midnight PPN mostly at zero all of next week, one positive that the ground gets a rest from the relentless rain. Frosty and dry
  16. Shame no snow chances this time. Maybe Feb could deliver. I would rather boring over more soaking rain though
  17. Latest Beeb going with low ppn staying in France now. A dry week coming away from the north. At least no more flooding. Stav, confirming a dry and cold week for our region.
  18. Absolutely no surprise the snow risk has faded for our region next week. As with the beginning of last December, with the LOW going into France, it does look quite a dry cold spell. At least we get another week with the ground to dry out.
  19. As with last Wednesday and the Wednesday before that and the Wednesday before that and the Wednesday before that ... The ''all important 12z runs are needed''
  20. Folk who scream "we need rain" after 2 weeks of dry weather in the summer, In the UK, makes me cringe every year. Its like our soaking wet winters and floods are erased from memory
  21. This is not a cold spell despite the MAD thread, Cold weather alerts. Back in the 80’s and 90s this would have been a fart in the wind. Non reported. Really quite incredible how a 2-6c daytime high requires an ‘Alert’ in 2024 …. Times have changed!
  22. BBC polar opposite According to Helen Willets ‘’temps recovering later next week”
  23. The public must be wondering what a ‘cold weather Alert’ actually means? According to BBC a few days of chill then ‘Quote’ Helen Willets latest TV forecast “Temps eventually recovering later next week” So that’s 2 days tomorrow and Monday of temps of 4-6c then near on double figures approaching later next week. Other countries must laugh at us
  24. I’ve also heard from a reliable source that this time tomorrow, there is a very high chance that the Day 10 chart will return
