  4. Still snowing here in Rotherham and we’ve had a proper dumping… loving it
  5. No idea where you are getting that info from. No Mild forecast in the north until Sunday at the earliest.
  6. Its been updated " Issued at: 10:40 on Wed 8 Mar 2023 There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow between 0900 on Wednesday 08 Mar and 0900 on Monday 13 Mar in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services. Please refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and your Trust's emergency plan for appropriate preventive action. This is an extension to the previously issued alert on Monday. Very cold weather is expected across most of England this week, with widespread frosts overnight and temperatures struggling to rise much above freezing in some places during the day. A band of rain, sleet and snow will move across the southern half of England on Wednesday and overnight into Thursday, with icy stretches developing. To the north of this should stay dry, although a few snow showers are possible in the northeast, but very cold temperatures will see a severe frost develop. On Thursday the focus shifts slightly further northwards, with another band of sleet and snow pushing northeastwards across central and northern England. There is some uncertainty as to how this band progresses, with current forecasts bringing that area of sleet and snow back southeastwards on Friday to affect parts of southern England once again. Further outbreaks of snow are possible over the weekend, as well as widespread frosts and icy stretches. Milder temperatures look like the may start to encroach from the southwest through Sunday, confidence on this however is currently low."
  7. If the met radar is anything to go by, non stop snow from 12pm today until 12pm Friday afternoon. One can only wish!!
  8. We had some in Wickersley and Brecks which is higher than the town centre by quite a bit. There was a lot up Kimberworth too.. would have expected Maltby to have a bit tbh The Met must not have a clue at 19:38 they were showing sleet and rain for here in Rotherham an hour later…. that low must have started tracking north again… Daren’t look in the Mod thread!
  9. We have had loads in Rotherham, the cold spell before Christmas, we had days and days of lying snow. I remember snow being deep in 2018 and the one before that.
  10. You know Trinity is 3 as in “Tri” It will be back north again in the morning and all hell will break loose on there!!
  11. Current alert level: Level 3 - Cold Weather Action Issued at: 08:47 on Fri 3 Mar 2023 There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow between 0001 on Monday 06 Mar and 2359 on Thursday 09 Mar in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services. Please refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and your Trust's emergency plan for appropriate preventive action. There is an increased confidence that a period of very cold weather will develop across the country from early next week, as a north or northeasterly airflow becomes established across the UK. The highest confidence is for northern parts where cold weather is expected to develop from early on Monday, progressing southwards through the day. Below average temperatures are expected throughout, bringing a widespread frost and wintry showers, these frequent along exposed windward coasts along with a risk of ice hazards. There is also a risk of more prolonged snow, perhaps due to rain pushing into the west from around midweek, although this is currently considered to be low confidence. This alert is likely to be updated and perhaps extended next week. Thats the Mets Cold Weather alert for everywhere above Nottingham. The bit that gets me is the part where it says This alert is likely to be updated and perhaps extended. Don’t know what you guys who are saying mild are seeing different from Met Office.
  12. Met office issues Cold weather alert from Sunday 6pm until Tuesday for all of England
  13. You know how reliable the weather apps are when on Sunday my app was showing snow and 0c for next Tuesday, then yesterday it was showing 10c and today it is showing 3c
  14. I prefer this headline from one of his making up story buddies: "New Beast from the East sees -9C freeze return and Britain facing two weeks of snow - maps Meteorologists are understood to be monitoring a pool of freezing air spinning over the North Pole which could spark a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) event, which triggered an Arctic deluge five years ago. A new Beast from the East could smash back into the UK that will trigger a sub-zero deep freeze and bring about the unwelcome return of two weeks of snow, according to the latest weather maps from WXCHARTS"
