  1. There’s still a bit of snow on my drive left from Thursday. I hope it warms up soon.
  2. Just watching the temperatures going down below what was forecast again. It’s not really got above freezing today.
  3. I’m in Burton it’s starting to pick up a bit now. The peak was meant to be 3pm I think.
  4. I’m moving house soon. Now worrying about the storms for two houses! The one I’m selling and the one I’m buying. Here looking for a downgrade...... but doesn’t look promising
  5. Maybe there are some model watchers who are hunting for mild. Some genuine posts which are backed up are shot down because it doesn’t meet with the wishes of the majority. I’m watching from the sidelines and it’s quite sad really. I hope people remember to be kind. The weather will do what it will do. No amount of if we could move this here or that there will change anything.
  6. I think anything is a possibility today and tomorrow. The bbc describe a moderate breeze for me today. However up to 45mph on met office I think it will be more like 50+.
  7. It’s nice to balance out the discussion I’m hoping for what others describe as boring winter weather. I live in a house with no central heating and the fuel prices going up will hit a lot of people hard this year. Frosty and snowy weather looks pretty when you can return to a warm home at the end of the day.
  8. My mum used to look for celandine flowers as a sign of spring. I have noticed catkins and some leaf buds on the trees on my walk to work. Can’t wait for some warm spring sunshine.
  9. Don’t forget the clinically vulnerable and older people are being vaccinated at the moment. My friends mother fell and broke her hip after getting her vaccination. That said the weather will do whatever it wants no matter what our preferences are.
  10. I hope it doesn’t settle on the pavements back to work tomorrow! There’s some slippery cold spots when it freezes the pavements of Burton.
  11. I work for the county council have worked through lockdown and not turning in for work is not an option. I was redeployed during the first lockdown. I live in an old house with gas fires to keep warm so I am concerned about the cold weather. I’d love to live on the Isles of Scilly it’s warmer there.
  12. I’m not keen on snow and really cold weather because of the disruption it causes. Some of the scenarios that were causing so much excitement on the model thread were a case of be careful what you wish for!
