  1. Agreed, if it falls at the right time to deliver snow in Jan/Feb then I'm all for it but not if it's going to bring a dull spring, that's when I'm seeking the warmth and sunshine
  2. In all honesty the first 4 photos were absolute c**p that I took, I happened to get a lucky break just as I was leaving to do the school run. Also have to thank the great camera quality of the Samsung S21
  3. Thank you for the knowledge and link quite proud of myself getting such a good photo.
  4. Not sure what these are or which thread to post them but I'm sure one of you knowledgeable folks will enlighten me, hard to get a good picture with the cloud cover.
  5. Aww I cant believe my entry won I never win anything and what a brilliant run down of all the stats, and congratulations to @metwatch for runner up position.
  6. Oh my bad, didn't realise its one vote per year
  7. Nice to know I'm not the only nutter wearing shorts in the rain
  8. Should've mentioned I'm only 5ft 3 maybe 4
  9. Phew, I'm still in my shorts and vest top even in the rain but then again I'm bordering on 13st though
  10. Some more lightning, looks to be getting closer. 20230910_201927.mp4
  11. If its the one I'm looking at it looks a right beast of a storm.
  12. Cluster of storms to the s/w, catching some awesome lightning. Can't hear thunder yet but hope I'm in for a direct hit 20230910_201111.mp4
  13. Oh bless you I've been having to get wasps out of my bathroom the past few mornings upon waking up, makes for a fun game at 6am when your just about to get in the shower.
  14. Can't remember which year it was (possibly 2017) Hurricane Orphelia brought that unusually warm day in October along with the apocalyptic orange sky and red sun, remember that very well and is proof not to underestimate the weather Hurricanes can bring to our shores.
  15. Exactly this, because the statistics say the summer was around average doesn't mean that personally it may feel that. Everybody has a different perception of what it feels like and like myself I wouldn't say it felt summer like at all and a handful of days the end of August doesn't cut it for me.
  16. They were pretty scary, it didn't help that I was terrified of the things at the time and I always knew when one was creeping round as my husband would slowly get up off the sofa and grab one of the many homemade spider catcher pots we had dotted all over the place and try and catch it without me knowing. Funnily enough I no longer have a fear of them so I suppose it was some form of exposure therapy
  17. My last flat was exactly the same, 100yr+ old building poorly maintained by the criminal of a landlord who owned it, moved in May 2010 and during the freezing dec of 2010 it got down to 5c in there we had rotting single glazed windows that would freeze over on the inside and insulation was non existent. I remember spending xmas and new year with the in laws as it was unbearable so I definitely feel your pain, not to mention the sizes of the spiders that lived there rent free, the things could've had saddles on their backs they were that large
  18. In regards to heat definitely not, i prefer that in the core summer months when you reap the most benefit from it but if your referring to mellow autumnal days with plenty of sunshine and the misty mornings and plenty of dry weather to cancel out this stinker of a summer then I definitely agree.
  19. Not to go into too much detail but I take methotrexate for my RA, so definitely a long term medication. I find wearing shorts and t-shirts during the warmer months helps to keep the hot sweats at bay.
  20. Thats been me recently but only because i suffer with hot flashes and sweats, possibly due to my medication.
  21. Same round here except they walk into piles of dog s*** and spread it all over the path for the rest of us to have to dodge. bleurgh
