  1. JUST HAD A POSITIVE STRIKE IN BROMLEY, KENT! Sorry about the caps. Never seen one in the flesh before
  2. The Tornado and Storm Research Organisation (TORRO) WWW.TORRO.ORG.UK TORRO is a privately-supported research body specialising in severe convective weather in Britain and Ireland they don't seem excited about tonight but nonetheless it's November
  3. Haha, it could end up being a very big thread indeed considering we're on our 12th consecutive thunder day!
  4. If shoulder seasons end up being the new storm seasons for the UK I'm totally cool with that
  5. I think you made the correct call by heading to the south coast as over the last few years, that's been where the action has seemed to be before decaying inland. On this occasion we got the classic southern plume event that for once didn't collapse over land but how were you to know? Despite being stuck at work in Croydon I probably copped the same storm that you were chasing. The continuous thunder was very satisfying indeed. It was nice to actually be able to point my phone at the sky and not have to wait for flashes. Ultimately I feel like 2023 has redeemed itself for me.
  6. Despite being at work at the I'm very satisfied with tonight's offerings. Continuous thunder at one point before the rain kicked in. Fortunately I did manage to sneak away for five minutes and film some of the storm. And here it is https://youtu.be/z2GTqn40API?si=k3s9J1QHT16KmrLr
  7. I would guess that it's because they're most likely to form in the afternoon in France and take time to blow north. The North Sea probably wonders the same thing about our homegrown storms
  8. To be fair, I was looking at the UKv and saw that the wind that was traveling east to west was forecast to die of by now. The wind was only offshore anyhow and presumably that was what was holding this squall together. Round two it is
  9. I do hope you have visited the Bude Tunnel whilst up there!
