  1. A coldie at heart but I think a collectively sigh of relief has been taken by most today, myself included! The windy atlantic air has been a novelty factor and at last the radiator has been kept off and not having to be used all day.
  2. After moans about lack of sun over past few days, some good blue skies are back today so crisp and cold again
  3. 1995 seems a fair comparison, I however was too young to remember what the weather was doing
  4. Slight moan, third day in a row without any sunshine which is a stark contrast to how the month/cold spell started. Hopefully we will see some over the coming days
  5. We have been abit unlucky here in Studley, Warwickshire during this cold spell as Stratford just up the road has seen quite alot more snow. I think West and East Midlands in general have done poorly in comparison to most other places. Hopefully we get something more notable later this week. Still regardless it's been a decent cold spell considering we were on the back of such exceptional warmth, I think even the most optimistic coldie would have not excepted such a spell this early in the season and even if it all goes wrong from a cold perspective from this Sunday onwards this winter has already beaten 21/22 for me.
  6. A light dusting of snow this morning it's turned heavier now so we might end up with a decent covering
  7. It was better than Autumn 2021 but that's not saying much. September was interesting, very warm and wet the first half of the month and then felt notably chilly towards the end of the month. October was wet, very mild and sunny. November very wet and staying on the very mild side though it started to show some signs of cold towards the end of the month.
  8. I wouldn't call this a boring spell either, in fact quite the opposite. Remember we are on the back of well over a year of exceptional warmth, the switch to a possible well below average month suddenly is fascinating in my eyes
  9. A cracking spell of very cold weather coming up this week considering how relentlessly warm it's been. Even if far out as expected milder weather finds us mid-December we'd have already beaten last winter for cold!
  10. That's my take on whatever weather we have this winter too which makes life much easier as I'm usually as big as a coldie as anyone
  11. Didn't realize/remember how much of a horror show 13/14 was for lack of cold. Need to go and look back at the notes of that 'winter'
  12. I remember July very well that year as we moved house on 1st July, it was hot and sunny every day from that point onwards for weeks. The switch around that summer signalled the start to a return of a much warmer trend which had taken abit of a holiday mostly from mid-2007 onwards to that point.
  13. A classic late Autumn/early winter's day today. Dull, dreary and pretty much dark already. I like these sort of days occasionally for atmospheric reasons but I'm not up for weeks and weeks of it
  14. I prefer to always focus on the weather other the next few days rather than 10 days away so you will never catch me in the model thread, doing the latter has always drove me mad and met me with lots of disappointments in the past, lol
  15. I think it will be a zonal and mild start followed by a quieter January and February with things finally going abit more average temperature wise and we will have a chance to finally end the long run of above average months most likely January I feel.
  16. Friday and Saturday wasn't too bad in Warwickshire, yesterday wasn't particularly awful just light rain before it cleared mid-afternoon. I think the month as a whole has been interesting and varied personally though still lacking much in the way of cold which isn't a bad thing
  17. It does feel more seasonal at last today dosen't it even though we are still slightly above average. Will make the most of it as we'll probably be back to wall to wall sunshine and mid-teens in a few days!
  18. Felt like a late summer day today, tomorrow will be even more so. Not usually a fan of warmth this late but deffo for the greater good this year, someone up there is looking after us
  19. Woke up sweating this morning, will be getting the fan out again rather than turning on the heating at this rate
  20. Beginning to get worried even this will look conservative/too low but I will hold for now!
  21. Also reminds of 2006 as well in how relentlessly warm it's been month after month, doesn't bode well for winter prospects does it
  22. Exceptionally sunny in the Midlands as well, most days it's been wall to wall
  23. Feels like it's going to be a chilly one tonight. Another fine and warmish day preceded it again though
