  1. I'm probably barking up the wrong tree here, but if that does come off that screams "turbo-charged jet stream" to me. Not good for cold prospects here in the UK.
  2. So that's another winter of mild, mild mild eh? Not saying I'm surprised but I am disappointed.
  3. It's about time we saw the back of warmth once and for all until next spring. Roll on the colder weather!
  4. I prefer the cloudy, damp weather, although cold, frosty and sunny is nice too in winter.
  5. I wouldn't say it's gone forever, but it's certainly going to get more difficult to get decent snow and prolonged cold across much of lowland England. And personally, I'm not buying the idea that this winter will be cold.
  6. Well, that's your opinion. I prefer to see less sunshine personally. Good for you!
  7. I'd rather have cloud, damp and drizzle than "glorious" sunshine for a whole month, especially in Autumn.
  8. I agree. Sadly, some on the mad thread are hyping up the prospects of yet another autumn heatwave. As if we haven't had enough heat already? I sincerely hope not.
  9. Funny you should say that... Yes, proper autumnal out there today and imo better for it. Easier to do stuff around the house when I'm not sweating and sleepless after an overly warm night.
  10. Well not everyone likes warm weather of any type, whether it's spring, summer or autumn. Personally I'm looking forward to the darker evenings and autumnal weather.
  11. I wouldn't be so confident 25c in late September will play out like that. The recent heatwave had some very warm nights, and the longer nights, weaker sun and shorter days did nothing to mitigate them.
  12. Give us a break! We've not long got over one awful September heatwave, let us enjoy Autumn now.
  13. I was feeling a little optimistic about the chance of a cold winter this year but this talk of a delayed IOD has concerned me.
  14. It's been overcast here all day, not sure about the temprature but I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near 26C.
  15. Today is the definition of "useable weather". I was able to get the lawn mowed without excessive sweating and am now enjoying the fruits of my labour with a nice sit down and cool drink in the garden. Long may this weather continue.
  16. Everything you said could be said straight back at you. You want constant heat and sun? Move to Florida.
  17. A week of sleepless nights is long enough thanks. If you want warmth turn up the heating, if you want sunshine get a SAD lamp. Most of us cannot escape this heat.
  18. Personally, I am sick to death of this wretched weather and can't wait for it to be over.
  19. It's hot, humid, nearly 4am and I'm wide awake and sweating. There's nothing lovely about this spell.
  20. After a surprisingly foggy and cloudy start the sun has finally broke through. I was hoping it might stay cloudy for longer but alas it was not to be.
  21. This is far from the ideal start to autumn that's for sure. The kind of heat some models are suggesting is uncomfortable at any time of year and it's only the relatively weak sun and short days that save it from being even worse; imagine this kind of set-up in mid-July for example.
  22. Well isn't that typical - just as we cross into September the weather is set to warm up again. I know warmth isn't unusual for September but I was sincerely hoping we could put the threat of heat behind us now. Roll on October I guess.
  23. It feels so much better out there today now the humidity has finally cleared. Let's hope we've seen the last of the real humidity this year.
