They’ve been out since 6pm mate

Some structure showing in this picture of the storms over Notts and coming slowly towards Newark. A tiny hint of green in it but not sure the picture shows that Thunder now regularly being heard too.

Sound of distant thunder from the Nottingham storm and now this is the sky as something starts to brew closer to me. Thunder is getting started from it too

Storm moving north east (to the south of me) is giving a few rumbles of thunder now, so maybe Lincoln may get the best of this one. I haven’t seen any lightning, and so far it’s just been a few spots of rain to.

Very heavy shower in Newark right now, big spots of rain. Nothing else yet though.

It’s missed us in Newark by around 4 miles to the west. There has been constant thunder from the storms for the last 40 or so mins and the radar returns look impressive. The air smells fresh too but we missed the rain also! (at least for now) Fingers crossed that it reaches you.

13.3c and thick cloud cover giving some patchy drizzle. Not the best start to the day. The cloud didn’t lift at all yesterday either.

Wasn’t expecting this but we’ve had a good 20 minutes of heavy rain and nearly constant thunder from the cell that developed close to Newark. It’s moving slowly away now and the thunder is getting less frequent too. I only saw a handful of forked lightning strikes though. An unexpectedly good start to the storm season for here. I'm not so sure. I can see the lightening from my back garden, it's definitely getting closer to us now.

Big thunderstorm over Newark right now. Frequent lightening, every 15 or 20 seconds, occasionally hearing shotgun thunder and getting lots of rumbles around us. Heavy rain in bursts. Its moving away North East now according to the radar. Good morning everyone!

I'm in Newark and we've just had the heaviest rain I've seen for years. Cars pulling over, roads flooded, torrential very gusty rain, visibility down to around a hundred metres at a guess and half a dozen flashes of lightening. Really intense storm for 15 mins.

First couple of rumbles of thunder in ages over my location just now. Steady rain too.

Whilst only being an amateur reading, this is the temperature from my back garden at 15:40 today in Balderton. The wind has picked up also, feeling like a blow torch and adding to the already astonishing feel of this heat. Yesterday we got upto 38c here. I'm not to a degree or 2 so I'll say we've definitely hit +40c

Watching the storm south of Newark and seen this circulation on the radar too. Absolutely loads of lightning but rain is blocking my view of that side of the storm.
