  1. It is not a toppler which is a transition of a 24-48 hour period of colder weather with the Atlantic then moving in
  2. The GFS 06z run does show that a couple of snow showers could come through the Cheshire gap tonight. If so, will provide a nice dusting that will stay around most of the week
  3. Just seen Chris Fawkes tweet with Arpege showing. Keeps Birmingham with snow and the rain line doesn’t get to us today. We must be right on the boundary
  4. Yep 18z GFS keeps tomorrow further north- above 0c 850 temps get up to Manchester
  5. Fax charts bring northern extent of tomorrow’s front to about Birmingham. Interesting
  6. I have to agree with you. Birmingham has generally been quite snowy over the years. I think memories are short and recently missing out on events has clouded memories
  7. To my eye, there looks like a potential snow event on Thursday night/Friday as that low dives and interacts with that cold air to the east. Of course it is subject to change
  8. Yep it’s been pretty good here in Harborne too. Settling well
  9. April CET to be lower than March’s CET? Has this ever happened before?
  10. I’m surprised you say that. I thought 2012-13 was a really good winter with snowfalls in Jan, Feb and March. January and March especially were really good. and then the 2017-18 winter was really good too. Overall, I think this has been a good winter with potentially more to come
  11. This is spot on. It happens every year that when you get into February, people are like winter’s done but I have found that March is far more wintry than December. Still a lot of potential for snow over the next 6-7 weeks On April 16 2016, I woke up to a small covering of snow for example. So there is still lots of potential
  12. Very heavy snow shower. Short and sharp. A dusting everywhere
  13. This has potential to be another March 12 2006 event. The front stalled about 20-25 miles west of here where they had big snowfalls and Birmingham nothing
  14. Yes I totally agree. Should just appreciate that we’ve had falling snow and small coverings in this cold spell given the rubbish we had in the last 2 winters.
  15. You may get lucky later as I think it will only shift north today
  16. Wind direction change again. Stream looks like going to hit North of Birmingham- Aldridge, Stafford etc
  17. Snowing quite moderately at the moment. Some good looking showers coming this way
  18. Just over an inch has fallen here in Harborne. Looks like more to come
