    Would be nice if something happened here in Hitchin, far to hummid. Really need something to break the air! Not that I would enjoy a single second of a storm you understand :-)

    Storm has moved on from here now, gone back to sunny and getting hot again :-( Its looking black over Biggleswade / Bedford way now from what I can see from here ......

    Still very dark here over RAF Henlow, Beds. Been thundering for a good 45 mins so far. Very dark sky, looks like its heading over A1 towards Biggleswade. no rain, very little wind and still warm and humid. No lighting (that I have seen sofar) but lots of thunder!

    A few deep rumbles of thunder a few moments ago. Still very warm and raining lightly. :-)

    Morning All. I agree with Nanu. Here it very much feels like its just waiting for someone to pull the switch. The sky has that yellow/orange grey look, very warm and humid. I wonder what today will bring. Be lucky all :-)

    Morning All! Just had my 1st drop (yep, single drop) of rain land on my window. Wind has picked up also :-)

    Evening all! Brilliant storm over Henlow at the moment, been on the go for a good hour now. VERY heavy rain and constant thunder!

    Starting to get dark here again now, can feel the skies getting really heavy. Wind is starting to pick up and so far have seen one flash in the distance and had two bangs of thunder.

    Hello All Skies gone very dark here in Hitchin, and had one loud rumble of thunder so far, just light rain that starts and stops but not coming to anything yet.... Scrap that, very heavy rain and wind picked right up and some more thunder!

    Evening All! Hitchin here and getting rumbles of thunder but can say from which way at the moment. No lightning either at mo. Dry, very warm and very very humid with a breeze picking up. Anyone see anything around Hitchin, Hertfordshire? Thanks

    Thanks for your feedback but also for explaining things too. Helps me to learn and understand. Until it was mentioned, I didnt even notice what was right under my nose, but looking at them now, I can see things I didnt even think about at the time. Just thought it was a nasty cloud. Just wish I had used my other camera rather than my mobile phone and I wish I had took more pics. Again, thanks for your comments!

    Your far from a dunce! Yeah, their is some very very clever people on here, thats why I enjoy coming on here. I enjoy the power and mood of mother nature, but I dont think in a million lifetimes, I would ever understand it or why it does what it does. I get blown away with some of the people on here at just how much they know and can predict, and Ill admit, ill never get anywhere that level, but id never let my poor limit of knowledge stop me from enjoying mother nature doing her thing!

    Thanks! TBH, I really wouldnt of known what I was looking for, that cloud just come out of no where in mins, it was nice and bright outside, then went dark all of a sudden, so I went out and saw that, so I just took 2 pics and come back in again, I didnt want to hang about because 1 it was right over head, and 2 I thought it was a thunder cloud so didnt want to be standing their if it decided to throw a bolt at me, so I went back in. All I rememeber was it was very quiet out but went very very windy.

    Hopefully one day, Ill be lucky enough to be as clued up as you! 5 mins before I took that pic, it was clear sky, and it went really dark outside, so I went out to see what was what and saw that, so I took a pic on my phone. Really didnt think anything of it other than it being a nasty cloud, but looking at the pics and the bits you pointed out, I wish I had took a load more! Thanks for pointing out to me and explaining! Learnt something new :-) Thanks!

    What I know about weather, I could fit on the back of a stamp, but whatever you call it, its not happy! Gone very very dark, wind has picked right up, and its raining, their have been 3 bangs of thunder so far. I can here the lightning detector going off over in the RAF base in Henlow and on the Golf Course also. Looking very misrable out, ill take more pics and post ASAP.
