  1. Poole Live Weather says max gust so far of 51.3 mph. Pretty windy out there.
  2. Happy New Year Netweather and followers. Best firework display at 11.30pm here. Just a few flashes and bangs but they were of the natural sort!!! Happy New Year Snowkissed. And yes, I heard it ……… better than the fireworks in my opinion!!!!
  3. Dorsetbred, I'm in Broadstone and it's awesome here. First decent storm I've seen in years.
  4. It's pepped up quite nicely, lightning every 2-3 mins and nice cracking thunder. Finally the rain too which is well needed.
  5. Lovely! Wish there weren't so many trees in my direct line of vision though!!!
  6. A few distant flashes seen here in Broadstone in the last 1/2 hr. It was very humid and still one minute and then one hell of front came whislting through and blew my garden furniture everywhere!!! Just made myself a cuppa and will see if anything interesting happens.
  7. Wow, finally a decent thunderstorm in Broadstone. Missed most of it sorting 'problems' out with friends but finally. yeeeeheeee
  8. After torrential rain all morning, I've just looked at the NW Extra radar and depressed myself but popping the lightning overlay on for a period 4 hrs! Ha, lots to my east, lots to my west. Not even a rumble here!!! Next time maybe!
  9. So typical - just watched the lightning overlay on the NW extra radar. Over the last four hours there was one hell of a lot of lightning to the east of me about four hours again and then and hour later one hell of a lot of lightning to the west of me!!!! What did I do so wrong that I just got the torrential rain? Not even a distant rumble. Huff. Not fair!
  10. Heard three rumbles of thunder in Corfe Mullen today, it looked so good and then it disappeared off to Blandford. Not fair, lots of fab looking clouds to the NE of me but clear blue skies here. Hey ho. Looks like there are a fair few around though so I can still hope.
  11. Just got back from my daughters sports day - soaked through to the skin, car seats are now soaking too. Quote from the headmaster " Well ladies and gents, I'm beginning to think we might have to call it a day " Sods law though isn't it, the minute we leave the school, it stops raining. Just looked at the forecast on here for me this evening - says a 62% chance of a storm ......nah ..... believe it when I see it, although I will be keeping one eye on the radar!!!
  12. Well how odd - three times this week, rumbling thunder here in Broadstone. Always in the distance but better the the big zero last year! Still rumbling away in the far distance, not lightning seen and it's blinking cold!!!
  13. Well it wasn't much but perhaps it's a sign of further fun this evening. Raining again here and gone very dark so fingers crossed. It's all definately heading in your direction Andy so I'll keep 'em crossed for you too.
  14. Trust me - I stood outside for 20 seconds and I was dripping, the dog looked at me like I was a looney! Mind you I'm 2 miles in land from the harbour so it may not have been so heavy down there.
  15. Well my little storm was short lived but by heck did it pour down! Swimming Pool now topped back up (which is good news cause I'm on water meter!) It's moved off now, heading towards you guys in Westbury I reckon ;0) There's another dark area heading my way so perhaps I'm in for a bit more. Will keep you posted.
  16. Woo hoo ..... a flash of lightning and a big rumble. Off into the Summerhouse to see if I can see more ... back in a mo.
  17. So near yet so far. I sat and watched distant flashes from several storms last night from about 6.30pm through to 1.30am. They just seemed to skirt past me, a little too far to the east. I heard very few distant rumbles though despite the intensity and frequency of the lightning. Guess I was just that little bit too far away. An active night if ever I've seen one. Roll on this evening, perhaps it will be my turn. Certainly humid enough out there. Dilema - do I give the dog a sedative tonight in his tea or not? I didn't last night which was a good call on my part (didn't have my thunder headache so took a guess that things would miss me). Fingers crossed for everyone again this evening.
  18. Fab pictures. Knew I was missing out on something half decent when I looked Christchurch way earlier.
  19. Been watching loads of lovely flashes this evening (mostly in the distance) but funnily enough, no thunder, other than a few rumbles much earlier this evening. Seems to have stopped now and all has gone very quite and still again. Hoping we may have something decent through the night. I live in hope.
  20. Thunder & Lightning here in the distance for the last hour, seems to have come up the channel and headed Bournemouth way rather than Poole. Bum! Muggy here, still one minute, windy the next. Had some steady rain but has stopped now.
  21. A bit late this year as I just don't get on here much now a days .... therefore, a belated good luck to you all for this years chasing - stay safe :0). This was the year I intended to come along but alas I've been too busy at work to get the time off :0(
  22. Just had a short sharp shower here. Feels pretty muggy out there so I guess there is a small chance I might be lucky enough later to hear a rumble or two. Had 4 flashes and a rumble here last night, I nearly missed them though as I had the TV on too loud!
  23. Couple of rumbles heard here in Broadstone. Would say by the look of the clouds it was from over Wareham way?
