    Wow a huge clap of thunder over Borehamwood just now. Wasn't expecting it until later after the heat of the day so a nice surprise... Hopefully it will be followed with some much needed rain.

    Snooooooow! It has been snowing deceptively lightly here for about 35 minutes, everything covered with a 'heavy icing sugar' amout on the ground; not measurable with a ruler yet but seems to be building up steadily!

    getting a few flakes of snow in with the rain in Borehamwood! Wasn't expecting it at all. Am hoping this means the precipitation will stop soon...

    still snowing nicely in borehamwood, looks like a couple of centimeters on the road and a good top up on the laying snow from Sat. A snow day tomorrow would be fab, otherwise i can see my self walking to work to avoid the school run traffic madness! MIspy

    its snowing harder in borehamwood (close to watford) still not big flakes, but bigger than they were. 3 cm laying snow on the decking.

    snowing in Borehamwood for about 30 minutes - very light but settling easily. Have an icing sugar coating.

    Snowing here! Hooray! Thought we were going to slip through a gap in the radar... but nope, tis definitely snowing. Really really tiny flakes so looks more like drizzle but is snow. Coming down quite fast and is certainly settling on the ice patches...cant't tell if its settling else where as it is still covered in snow from Wednesday :lol: Mispy

    snowing steadily in Borehamwood again. Reasonable size flakes rather than the tiny ones we were having most of the morning. Think that might be it for us (for today) once this band has passed - the systems seem to be sinking south rather than easterly. Mispy

    About 12 cm of snow now in Borehamwood - 7 cm of that have fallen in the last couple of hours. It's brightened up and the snow has eased off a bit now - just small flakes falling. Temperature reading 0.1 but my thermometer has been reading that constantly for the last 36 hours...(!) Not sure from the radar where this afternoons snow showers are meant to come from? Are they expected from the blob of precipitation currently in the north sea? Mispy

    started snowing here (Borehamwood) in the last minute or snow. Pellets rather than flakes but settling on the road / cars etc very quickly. Hooray!

    has been snowing on and off here since about half past three quite heavily at times. Settling on cold surfaces quite nicely. Have not had time to keep up with the model thread recently so it was rather a pleasant surprise.

    yuk yuk yuk yuk! A thoroughly cold and unpleasant mix of rain, sleet and snow here in Borehamwood. Very jealous of the reports of snow from St Albans and Kimpton... perhaps I should move a little further north...!

    Snowing again here. After this mornings (rush hour) snow we have had almost continuous cold sleety rainy stuff with a few snowy patches here and there. Now it seems to be falling as snow again...just in time for the evening traffic....!! Mispy
