  1. Heavy hail storm happening in Lower Caversham (Reading) Sky is all grey colours (after a nice-ish day)
  2. My bit of Reading just hit by a big 'squall' v.windy and sideways heavy rain - came outta nowhere - a nice rumble of thunder thrown in for good measure too. Lovely jubbly.
  3. Well it's been steady rain here in Caversham (Lower) Reading, Berks for the last couple of hours. The river (Thames) is well over the bank and rising. I've phoned the E.A. to find out how much more to expect ~ the call handler told me in a bored voice "watch local news, listen to local radio". Council website is a tad more informative, saying that a big rise is due at 2am on 24th - but not details of even average rise - which surely someone must of calculated !!! Various neighbours have already abandoned ship/home I'm on the top floor of a block of 3 so am going to hold out. If anyone is in the know regarding how much water is on it's way to my part of the world I would really appreciate a head's up !
  4. Rain on and off all day in Reading, at times angry skies promising something spectacular ..... but onnly delivering torrential outbursts. The usual roads being flooded - ie under the railway bridge rendering static traffic ... deep joy.

  7. Hoping for nice clear skies. But ... following the wiki link says it's the HUNTERS moon ? not trying to be pedantic or owt but I've been telling the kids lol!

  9. Windy, heavy rain and first crack of thunder just heard here in Reading
  10. Hour or so of very heavy rain here in Reading - at times torrential. Rain has now stopped and the sky is clearing.
  11. Pouring down in Reading at the mo, the rivers of the great unwashed that are here for the festival are getting another soaking. Hot and humid and some awesome cloud formations this afternoon, but no thunder - lighting - or anything frightening
  12. Solar eclipse for me. Only seen the one, and it will probably be my one and only. Before I turn me toes up I will see the Northern Lights, and that may well eclipse my eclipse experience Any witnessed astral phenomenon doo doop ee do dooh is always momentary magic.
  13. Just starting to get cloudy and dark here in Reading, breeze has dropped, stonkingly hot.
