I'm actually quite hopefull with this one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the system will stall over us for a few hours at some point as well. We just need a good frost to set in overnight and we should be set for the big one! Redditch should see a good inch or two I would think. Has anyone seen my ramp?

I just drove home from Redditch, and it took me 1.5 hours (15 miles)! The snowflakes were mahooooooosive, as in the palm of your hand size! We've got a couple of cm's at most. My friend was forced into a ditch in front of me when a car lost it's back end coming from the other direction. He had to swerve to avoid them and went into a tree, allbeit at slow speed fortunately. The other driver didn't even stop! Be careful out there if your driving people, lots of carefree idiots out there.Oh, and the METO got this completely wrong again.

I reckon I might get a centimetre here! Council hasn't gritted the road by the looks of it either, so they'll get a slating no doubt!

It's been very light snow uptil now. It seems to be getting heavier and slightly larger flakes. Not under the main band yet though. Keeping fingers crossed for those BIG flakes!

For those having snow/sleet, what are your temps and dp's?

The rate of temp increase has reduced a lot in the last half hour. It was 0.38per hour, it's now 0.019per hour. At this rate of change, the temp should begin to drop again pretty soon (currently 0.1oc). I just need the dp to drop another degree lower (currently -1.5oc) and I should be set for anything that does arrive.

It's like a weather forcefield that redirects the snow everywhere else but here. To use a phrase from my generation, `this sucks man!' Please Jeebus, let it snow!

Hmm, temp is now 0.1, dp -1.6. Both are rising and have been for the last couple of hours. How long will it take for this milder air to sod off to the east?

And the news coverage will be of London, and the east/south east...again...

Light snow falling here now. I'm not holding my breath for anything decent tonight though.
