My money's on the Arpege! I personally don't think the southeast evolution of this precip has finished being modelled yet... -

Finally have some smallish flakes falling in Shoreham after being under the lighter precip on the radar for nearly a couple of hours... The heavier band should make landfall soon and pep things up a bit... does seem to be shearing off a bit as it edges closer to land though - I reckon East-Sussex/Kent wwill be the sweet spot later -

Met office pretty bullish on Thursdays event... Seen a temp drop of a degree here in the last hour: 5.8C >> 4.8C with light rain. hoping that cold air is starting to edge out that milder southerly already... -

looks like the precip currently over Brittany is intensifying on it's eastern flank - keeping them crossed!

seems a strange forecast as they seem to be doing a bit of ramping regards the cold and snow potential for next week... they even recently tweeted an animated SNOW gif -
HI Steve, What are your thoughts for Sunday eve ? I thought temps were expected to be into high single figures for the brief warm-up on Sun/Mon ?

wow, it's pretty painful to watch that precip slipping southwestwards, especially as the temps are the right side of marginal now - from an IMBY perspective, is there any other precip expected to make it to the soutcoast tonight? I see the Metoffice still have a warning for snow for our area between 6am - 10am tomorrow, or is this just wishful thinking? Glad to see some people have manage to get a decent covering tonight anyway... I'll just post this pic here of the halo moon, and it's little mate Jupiter, as a consolation ! -

A few pics from out in the garden just now... I think we are pushing 8-10cm at the moment... It didn't look like it was going to deliver down here for the first part of today, bit it's certainly chucking it down now, with no signs of stopping anytime soon.... the radar suggests we could be in for quite a dump more before the night is out! I think I've just about recovered from the 6 mile drive home taking over 2 hours, especially when we get scenes like these! Enjoy the snow all those lucky ones that have it!- 775 replies

Thanks for that Steve. Pinning my hopes on those GFS dp forecasts now - but as you say, it's always borderline this close to the sea.

Yep, I could see it going this way when it hit 6.8c in the garden here today - not raining here yet, but doesn't look like it's far off & temps still up at 4.7c. Will need some magic to get the temps down now with all this cloud cover...
-
down at the Playas de Shoreham we currently have: Temp: 4.5c DP: 0.1c Bugger off cloud! we need to lose some of this heat!
-
Temperatures are a concern down here on the coast - 4..7c at Worthing and 3.7c in Brighton. We've now got some pretty dense cloud cover as well.
-
Just about scraped into the amber warning right down here on the coast. Still concerned with the temps for the extreme south coast tomorrow. Official met office temps from Shoreham airport are showing a +7C change in temps in 4 hours, from a low of -3.7C at 8am this morning.
-
Louise Lear just stated on News24 that the warnings for Wales area has been upgraded to red - nothing showing on the met site yet though...

Morning all, around 5 C down on the coast in Shoreham today - hoping to see the temps starting to drop through the day. Have noticed there is currently a 2C difference in temp from the coastal temp observations between Brighton Marina (4.8C) & approx 12 miles further West at Worthing Pier (6.7C). Concerned that temps may be marginal for Mondays event on the coast
