  1. Had 5 or 6 large booms of thunder in last 10 minutes. Looks like more heading this way...
  2. It's looking good for most of Kent, looks like the MO warnings for Kent are looking spot on, as you said hopefully it will aid the likelihood of snow via the front tomorrow. Looks like tonight could trump many accumulations via the front anyway!
  3. Just had 6 or 7 loud rumbles of thunder almost overhead here in Newcastle under Lyme
  4. Just seen the report, I didn't feel anything unusual here in Staffs...
  5. That shower has just hit here in leighton buzzard, torrential rain with hail mixed in.

  7. That was a very interesting squall line, with 3 bright flashes and booming thunder! Nice to hear this so early in spring, as the last few years have been very poor for electrical activity in this area.
  8. Snowing here in Leighton Buzzard, getting heavier in last 5 mins.
  9. MK is in between the snow bands, good chance of a top up later as the band to the north pushes south. Here in Leighton Buzzard it is still snowing lightly as shown in attached radar image.
  10. Incredible picture of Thundersnow in the NE Who would like some of that????
  11. I've got a similar amount here as well Simon, the heavier PPN always seems to go around us sadly!
  12. Check out the satellite loop the snow band seems to have quite a lot of easterly momentum, I think this could all continue to move further east than suggested by the professional forecasters http://www.sat24.com/gb
  13. The 06Z NAE is trickling in now, I don't like the look of the snow/rain prediction at 24hours. http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&MENU=0000000000&CONT=ukuk&MODELL=nae&MODELLTYP=1&BASE=200912271800&VAR=prty&HH=24&ZOOM=0&ARCHIV=0&WMO=
  14. Here in Leighton Buzzard in Beds, we have periods of rain to sleet and back to rain, etc. Some big wet flakes mixed in as well an hour ago. The PPN has eased off in the last while and is just rain now.
  15. Here's a good website with historical data back to 1950 http://www.newx-forecasts.com/ao_2.html Also you can get the info in tabular form for each month here http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/precip/CWlink/daily_ao_index/monthly.ao.index.b50.current.ascii.table
