    Had a least 10 inches last night and this morning on top of 18 inches that have collected here since the 18th of december. The wind is very strong and the drifts are incredible. I am definitely snowed in! We are 45 mins south of Edinburgh. The photo is from New years day I will take some more today.

    Rain turned to snow about 1 hour ago. Now very heavy snow and starting to accumulate. 2 cm at present.

    Has been snowing all day on and off. Have about 8 cm lying but we are about 900 feet up. Strong winds also causing some sizeable drifts.

    At about 10 am this morning in north edinburgh there was heavy snow then lightning and thunder ie thunder snow. i have never seen this before and it was very impressive. i work in a vets and it was interesting that all the dogs became very nervous and distressed about 5 minutes before the event!

    7am this morning heavy frost and -7.1 C. Now -5.5C and falling almost looks like its snowed.
