  1. Distant thunder heard about 10 minutes ago in Waterlooville.
  2. Seeing flashes very few seconds in Waterlooville. Looks like the IoW is getting hammered.
  3. Frequent lightning again to the NW and SE of me. Also looks like the intense activity over the Isle of Wight has left someone needing to find shelter. https://www.islandecho.co.uk/house-blaze-in-the-village-of-bembridge/
  4. Seeing frequent and more intense lightning and deep thunder coming from the south. Looks like where we missed out on the activity of the last one moving to the west, we could see some action here.
  5. We've had a light dusting over the last 45 minutes. Very fine and blowing readily in the wind. Hoping that later comes off so I can have a very smug face for all of the non-believers in work. Only problem now is that no-one has attempted to drive down the road, and that fine layer will freeze before the main event arrives. The drive this morning will be interesting.
  6. Getting very frequent lightning here in Southampton. Got much closer over the last 10 minutes.
  7. Some activity into the south of me in Southampton. Had some flashes and low rumbles of thunder over the past 10 minutes.
  8. Very frequent lightning for the past 50 minutes in Southampton. No thunder yet. Blitzortung app shows strikes edging slowly towards us.
  9. We've had lightrain since early this morning, but only in the last 15 minutes can thunder be heard. As usual it's skirting to the west of us.
  10. It's been looking very ominous to my SW over the past 30 mins, and the radar shows it has intensified quite a bit. Looks like this one unlike the past few days could hit me head on.
  11. The steady rain has over the last 15 minutes been changing to sleet with bits of snow. I haven't got my weather station up at the moment, so having to rely on http://www.sotonmet.co.uk for temps which is showing a decrease. The other half reports heavy snow around Poole at the moment.
  12. Other half says another bus has possibly slid into the first. Ambulance is trying to get through but difficult as most cars are bumper to bumper.
  13. A bus has had an accident on Cobden Avenue (downhill). Looks like he slid and slammed into the roadworks barrier on the triangle. Traffic is pretty backed up there. A Tesco lorry has stopped on the Cobden Bridge (uphill), no hazards.
  14. Just came back from walking to the local shop and the flakes are much thicker now, and there's quite a wind too. Peartree Ave is getting pretty well covered, not sure if this is considered a priority route. The other half was sent initially to Plymouth this morning (lol), but is now homeward bound. Apparently lots of fools on Thomas Lewis Way have no idea how to drive in snow and are trying to floor it and spin all over the place.
  15. Same skies here in Southampton with a few flakes coming down.
  16. Now have rotation from this. Will try and post some video later.
  17. Massive storm approaching here, and also have a shelf cloud.
  18. That one only gave us very heavy rain and a little hail. It was only as it headed away further south that I started hearing thunder.
  19. Heavy shower with a little hail passed overhead about 20 mins ago. Radar shows it's been developing very quickly and it's now producing thunder in the distance about every minute as it heads out over the Solent.
  20. We've had rain for most of the evening, but it's suddenly started turning very sleety. I would even say wet snow.
