  1. [qoute] welcome to the forum.[\quote] Thank you, I must say that I find this forum very intresting. [qoute]whens your snow forecast for? you mean more snow??[/qoute] Yup, light snow is forecast for the next couple of days, and I think a more serious snow shower is due to arrive next week-end. An intresting detail about the temparutes. In Bechet this morning there were -25 c, now if you search in the "euro heat" thread, you will see that I wrote on the 25 of July that bechet recorded 44,3 c. Other pictures from Romania !
  2. After 2006/2007 sorry excuse for a winter, 2007/2008 has shown that the cold stuff has returned, and with what style... The south of Romania and the north of Bulgaria have been hit by a huge snow storm, between the 1st and 3rd of January, leaving as much as 108 cm in 48 h in Zimnicea in the extrem south of Romania, between the 2nd and 3rd of January. Many roads have been closed, and are still closed in both country, including a highway between Bucharest and the black sea. After all that snow, some pretty cold temperatures these days, up to -27 c this morning in the center of Romania, and temperatures haven't pass yet -15 in some cities in the center of thecountry although it's noon. Bucharest has up to 52 cm of snow, and curent temperatures -9 c, and it looks like more snow is on its way.
  3. Salut, After another three days with maximum temperatures around 38 C, now in Bucharest (11.30 a.m.) there are only 15 C with heavy rain. Maximum temperature won't reach probably 20 C. Beautiful weather really
  4. What a change, especially for the center of the country ! After the temperature managed tuesday to surpass 35 C in Întorsura Buzăului , this morning, in this same place, there were only 4.8 C.
  5. Hello once again ! Official data for yesterday: Calafat 44.3 (0.8 C warmer then the all time record for July and jus 0.2 C off the all time record) , Bechet 44.2 , Băileşti 44.0 , Moldova nouă 44.0. The big diffrence today is that at 17.00 at Calafat the temperatures is 30.4 as oppose to 44.1 yesterday.
  6. 44.0 C in Calafat at 16.00 has been confirm, that's a new record for Romania in July, now we are just 0.5 C from reaching the all time record. Look at this temperatures : http://www.inmh.ro/index.php?id=58
  7. Yes it's truely unbearable to walk in open air at noon. The July record for Romania is 43,5 (Giurgiu, 25.07.2000), the all time record for Romania is 44,5 ( 1938 Brăila district in august, I can' remember the exact date). I don't know if this is the hottes summer, but I do know that 2007 is the hottest year so far in Ro Today, the maximum temperature expected for Giurgiu is 43, so that July record could fall.
  8. Greetings once again ! I honestly don't have any more words for the weather in my country. This new heatwave (which has a nord-african origin) is absoluty astonoshing. In Calafat (in the extreme south-west of the country) today is going to be the 4th consecutive day where the temperature will reach or even surpass 40 C . In Bucharest there were 2 days with 40 C in the south of the city, but yesterday, the temperature was "cooler", only 38.9 C, but don't worry, the maxim tem. for monday and tuesday is cet to be 41 C. Of course that will make Bucharest the seconde hottest capital in the world after Baghdad, beating even Khartoum or Islamabad . The night temperatures are also nice, a night with a cool minimum temperature of 31 C hit Oravita 2 days ago. If you are wondering how we are doing in this race for survival, well I'm affraid that 12 of my compatriots dind't managed to reach the finishing line.
  9. Greetings from Romania. All hell broke lose here. It's 18.48 and 39 c in Bucharest. In Giurgiu 60 km south of Bucharest it's even better: 42 We are all going to die due to global warming, how nice :o
  10. Thank you for your replays, and thank you Nick F for that GFS, it's beautiful Indeed, we've had some good winters, especially last year (just check out the pictures below which were taken in January 2006 at the shore of the Black Sea), but, unfortunately, SE Europe is following the general trend of global warming, no question about it.
  11. Hello there, Been reading your forum for some time now, and I have to say that it's great, the vastness of information about the weather that you guys possess is remarcable. Now about the weather in Romania. Well as you probably can imagine it's warm over here, and it has been warm (7-8 C above normal) evrey day since the 4th of the month, december was... also warm. The romanian meteorologists said at the begining of the month that the weather will cool down after January the 17 but that dosen't seem to happen, so I was wondering, do you have any information about East Europe weather ?
