  1. Capitulated this evening. The auld yin was feeling chilled coming off the golf course and I’ve not been too comfortable myself either. Just for half an hour hopefully, two heaters in one room.
  2. Today feels a little more comfortable than yesterday 19.8 in here just now, yesterday barely nudged above 19. Hopefully we can hold out a few more days.
  3. The temperature has bounced around between 18-19 today. Tbh it’s becoming quite difficult to bear. It’s the kind of temperature for me that’s nice to sleep in under a warm duvet, or a cooling relief after a muggy spell but all day long it starts to get into the extremities. Unfortunately I can see us needing the heating on before the bank holiday weekend is out, maybe just for half an hour to ‘take the chill off’
  4. Nice to see some polar maritime air (the green stuff) hit our shores during the middle part of the run and some 'purples' up at Greenland. I am sick of this incessant mugginess. It's not even that warm just persistently muggy with not a great deal of diurnal variation.
  5. Has there ever been an ‘active’ season with zero activity in August? https://www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane/accuweather-issues-update-to-2022-atlantic-hurricane-season-forecast/1234187
  6. This is one of the latest spells I can remember still having the heating on on a quasi-daily basis (including early yesterday which turned out to be lovely) and yet it’s ‘above average’. But apart from spells like late yesterday afternoon the proper heat of the sun has not manifested itself.
  7. 12.1 for me please Late penalties are only after midnight and I’ve had many over the years
  8. Happy New Year all! A slightly late and hungover guess of 3.2 for me, please.
  9. It always seemed to be nice in the 90s and early 2000s as soon as the schools went back in Scotland (or at least that was my perception!) Certainly 1995, 97, 99, 2000, 01, 03 and 04 stand out from that time as having a lot of good weather with 95, 97 and 03 being notably warm, record-breakingly so in the case of 1995 and 2003 (still, I believe, Scotland's warmest ever month and daily max respectively?).
  10. Deceptively warm and humid, moreso than the 20°/12° at Prestwick Airport would suggest. The wind at Ayr beach is like a hairdryer
