    I could see the flashes from that storm near Sheffield/Donny from Stamford near Peterborough. There are no other storms it could be to my north. Amazing!

    Storm just passed through Stamford. Not loads of lightning but torrential rain for a good 10 minutes. Took this as the storm approached, with Red Kites surveying the town

    Interesting blob of precip over Herts at 1200 on Friday on the ECM, that would suggest 12 hours of snow albeit probably very light.

    Short burst of rain arrived but the thunder seems to have stopped, anyone else in west London thinking the same? Radar has the heavy stuff right over me in W3.

    Morning all, just finished with the fallout of the storm in west London (Acton) at 6-6.30am. Our depot flooded, offices & computers ruined (as much because of the poor state of the roof). Enjoyed the storm though, cg lightning, very loud thunder and the rain was torrential for a few minutes and was so bad, even London drivers slowed down! Hope it's just a taster of what we're all getting later. Enjoy it folks

    morning all, west London storm went over me here at work in Acton. Our depot flooded within 10 minutes! Good start to the day from a weather nerd point of view, pain in the rear workwise though.

    Moderate snow in Bushey nr Watford with a good covering already. Don't think snow was expecting until later this morning and looking at the radar there's heavy stuff approaching from the south. Could be a good day!

    GFS suggests very little snow, and more probably sleet for south & west of the region tomorrow. I don't mind as i'm travelling to Liverpool on saturday morning!
