There was probably 2-3 inches of snow here in Reigate last night. When I set off to Redhill at about 6 last night, the roads were treacherous. But by 7.30, all major roads had been gritted and it was ok to drive. Main roads are clear this morning but busy - pavements are an ice rink…

Morning everyone, have driven up to my parents’ house in Suffolk yesterday and we had a very heavy shower (about 20 minutes) at The dartford crossing - the storms then went around my parents’ village but they’ve barely had a drop of rain!

I’ve noticed a lot of trees - silver birch and beech seem to have been stressed by the heat last week and their leaves look burnt. 5-10mm of rain here in the south east would be useful even if it greened things up a bit!

Mine did look like the Serengeti but after a week of water fight / paddling pool etc had started to green up again! had to use an umbrella just now to go into town - some “proper” rain!
