Do you subscribe to railcam? Nothing here so far in Norfolk but its the warmest night of the year so far in my opinion, not a hint of cold air its gorgeous, an alternative way to play out the rest of my birthday (which has now indeed finished)

That updraft looks lively! Nice capture, I like this just as much as thunder and lightning.

If you mean with the skew-t, then go onto Pivatol weather, go on forecast models for the UK, I think you can look at any of them to click your location for the chart.

Now that's a tasty looking Skew-T if it ever stayed like this (with sounding location and dewpoint temps) EL level nice and high too.. My area in Norwich not looking so favourable at the moment but as it is far out, we know it's likely to change. At least lets hope if and wherever gets to see storms, they stay potent. Edit: I should also add, it is GFS and most certainly that is likely buffed to what it is actually going to be. (the impossible chart)

Some thunder heard today over Norwich and a reasonable amount of rain. After that I chased in between 2 cells, 1 heading towards Yarmouth and the other Lowestoft after noticing a cell earlier began to rotate on radar just before it went out to sea in Lowestoft. So I was hoping that these storms behind it would have done the same. The one towards Lowestoft looked reasonable but didn't really get to see anything too noteworthy unfortunately and storms were weakening the further east they got. However, it's nice to see the skies stormy for a change. Some nice cloudscapes. Ended up at Lowestoft then went to Yarmouth and back to Norwich. Edit: another potential storm day tomorrow by the looks of it. Looking forward to what CW's outlook will be.

You never know though, it could move the other way, I know it's tough when you get a few busts etc but it could turn around one time for an epic show!

Yeah, it's too early to make assumptions, enjoy the charts, you can always practice playing out a good scenario when the charts look good even if it doesn't materialise on the day

The trouble is now, according to models that theres now an overspread of dry air until it returns overnight. Clouds do keep appearing here but I think the moisture is residual in the lower levels.

The teasing little burger.. this popped up just to the south of me, sat24 showing a little back building of convective clouds and the likes.

It's kind of a taster of what we would have had if the setup was further west and a better alignment of the ingredients. Explosive to say the least. Having said that, sitting in the garden under a shady tree with this lovely warmth is damn nice. Its chosen the relaxing path rather than the excitement one!

Can see it from Norwich, went up like a rocket and its evolving quickly, just seems pointless chasing unless it back builds far enough.

Full chase mode is ready, just in case! Good luck those in the risk area!

We've been outside all afternoon and this evening (Norwich), it got chilly pretty quickly even though it was pretty damn hot when the sun was out earler. Last night was lovely, felt warm, we were expecting the same this evening but it didnt happen.

I've subscribed as a supporter of Reed Timmer and watch his streams both supporter only and free streams and he uses Pivotal weather in his forecasts and recommends it, I just thought it was for the US so didnt look and thought clicking on the areas on the map you want to see a skew-T was fantastic, now I can do the same which is great and no plotting in CAPE or trying to visualise it in my mind either, great stuff! Thanks for letting us know some functionality is for the UK too. If anything is in reasonable distance from me, I WILL be chasing, good luck everyone!

I purposely didn't say anything about it cause I wanted to get at least one natural opinion without prompt. I also agree. I have recorded the radar imagery for that period between 6.45 and 7pm which was when the pics had been taken. Simon has sent all his footage to Torro.

Taken viewing over Braydon Water in Great Yarmouth. This wasn't me Credit: Simon Luckman. A bit of a strange one from my perspective, nice cloudscapes. First rain came through and no thunder, an hour later some fairly frequent thunder from a cell north of me. Then the cell that went over us didn't thunder at all during the heavy rain. It passed and then I heard a couple of rumbles. Later when it got dark thinking that it was all over, heard another rumble and then hit by heavy rain. No lightning seen today.

Nice job! Its always nice to get a surprise like that.
