  1. An absolute treat in the gardens outside the hotel ... Had to shorten and create a gif cos the better vid was too big.
  2. Rich_Clements The place on the IOW seems to be Shanklin Chine. We're backing on to it, so I've been on the look out from day one. Walked from Alum Bay to the Needles, then on to Freshwater. Absolutely stunning up the top... Even had a Spitfire do a barrel roll for us, by the Tennyson monument. At Mottistone gardens now waiting for the bus and it's clouded up a bit.
  3. And we just spotted a Red Squirrel outside, when we were having brekkie, so that's Mission Accomplished. Bus to Alum Bay and The Needles in a bit.
  4. *Stormforce~beka* They come to the hotel every night, for tea. All nine of them.
  5. *Stormforce~beka* Positively balmy. This woke us up and sent us scrambling to close the velux windows. Didn't last long.
  6. Dorsetbred Negative. Turns out it was the Charlie Church brigade packing out the beach today. Hundreds gather at Bournemouth beach for mass baptism in the sea - BBC News WWW.BBC.CO.UK Congregations from five churches across Bournemouth celebrate their faith with a public baptism.
  7. jy I think we're staying near the Donkey Sanctuary. We'll be in Shanklin. Not bothering with the car though, so everything will need to be walkable, trainable, or busable.
  8. jy That's what you'll get tomorrow. Although more than a light breeze. Off to the Island tomorrow for the week.
  9. Andy Bown Agreed Andy. It's been lovely and a perfect excuse for once, to do absolutely nothing all day. I was overruled earlier though and had to modify the brolly with a bed sheet.
  10. Alderc 2.0 Where's that?
  11. Left too late to get to the top of Clearbury for the Red Arrows, but we did get enough height to see them fly over Britford. They put the smoke as they flew over what must have been Longford Castle.
  12. Absolutely perfect summer temp on the patio at the moment. So, so nice. Thankfully, my second gardening job tomorrow has been cancelled due to a road closure, so I'll be done very early. Works nicely as the OH knocks off at lunchtime for the summer.
  13. Dorsetbred Yeah, due to our North at 9:59am. I would walk up Clearbury out the back here, but it'll be a bit hot for that.
