  1. Decent evening out there now. Plenty of sunshine. Got 90 mins of digging done, after work. On the home straight now.
  2. Cloudy here too now, if it's any consolation. Warmest place is in the greenhouse at a lovely 21C. Might have to test the WiFi signal in there.
  3. *Stormforce~beka* Ah, yeah that'll be it. If I finds worms when digging, they go straight it the composter.
  4. jy Yeah, I've had two bays for a couple of years. Once sifted it's decent stuff, but I guess I should shred the twiggy stuff before I put it in. This year, I've built one more from pallets and discarded stock fence posts that I find on my walks. Got space for two more in the same area, to keep it rotating.
  5. A few spots of rain this morning, nothing more, so far. Pretty cool too. The fields are drying out at least, now, so no more muddy boots walking across the fields.
  6. *Stormforce~beka* Dunno, was just explaining what jy meant. We'll get ours from Baskets and Blooms, nr here.
  7. Cracking day again. Big difference between working in the open, in the breeze and sitting on the patio, out of it. Done now, I can sit on the latter with a pint and listen to the FA Cup semi.
  8. *Stormforce~beka* Hardy in heat. 6 for £3.50. Looks decent out there this morning. The cloud is on the Western horizon and moving away.
  9. Went down to Lepe beach today. Nice and busy, with plenty enjoying the Sunshine. Back in the garden now and it's lovely and warm. Caught the start of the footie from Wembley, where it looked cloudy. As db says it's heading out way, but should unusually only bother us overnight, before clearing tomorrow.
  10. *Stormforce~beka* If you'd ever seen Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, you'd know. Absolutely lovely now and has been for an hour, or so. Sunny and warm, out of the breeze. If the farmer hadn't been muck spreading today, it'd be perfect.
  11. Absolutely chucking it down here. Saw it coming on the radar and in the distance over Salisbury, so thought I'd get the grass cut before it arrived. Job done and feeling smug. Then my raised bed wood arrived and I helped the chap shift it all. We both got soaked.
  12. jy I enjoy it, although I might not after my fifth. I find that I don't have to think about much, apart from going in a straight line.
  13. *Stormforce~beka* His card had three addresses on it. *Stormforce~beka* The pack said my grass seed was bird resistant. If you're struggling to get it to germinate, mix the seeds with some compost. Put it all in a bin bag for a few days, then spread it. The birds won't bother with it then.
  14. Perfect on the patio now. Just been over the river to take my water sample. Met an older chap and his wife over there, who live in the next village. Don't know them. Anyway, he asked lots of questions about what I was doing and in the end he gave me his card offered to give us £200 for more kit.
  15. Rich_Clements Sorry. It's just such a shame it won't last. Just popped outside to water the grass seed and it still feels pretty chilly out there.
