  3. Wind is picking up now. Barometer 992.1mb and dropping at 2mb/hr..... Something is stirring!
  4. March 2008 storm saw a maximum gust here of 67.9mph. Be interesting to see how this compares. Average wind speeds here now just above 20mph, the highest gust today was 42.6mph when the rain passed through in the early hours, and just over 50mph yesterday late afternoon. Barometer steady at 998.0
  5. Yes, probably a little extreme, though in October 1987 we ended up being without mains power for six days and telephone for a day over three weeks. Don't underestimate the power of nature.....
  6. It has arrived in Wincanton. Temp dropping too, with wind picking up noe from ESE. Temp 0.1c DP -1.2C
  7. Temp 0.7c DP -0.6c WB 0.2c The first few flakes are falling here, after 0.2mm of very light rain over three hours. The NW radar precip type is bang on based on postcode
  8. Steady snow in Wincanton. Temp 1.1 and now dropping. DP -0.7
  9. Nothing to get excited about here in SE Somerset. Temp has fallen, but is still +1.1 and DP +0.3. Several hours of very light, wet sleety stuff. Most unpleasant.
  10. Flash warning for the rest of the region now from the Met Office.
  11. Met Office just put Cornwall back on Orange warning.
  12. Blimey, what superb entertainment this discussion group provides. Who needs the telly? Hope and despair; competence and incompetence; cold air and hot air; sense and senselessness. Keep it coming!
