hey we have had snow falling from 6am and has just stoped, a good covering of snow and still i think more to come steve

have been out a fair bit in the snow in the northen corries, and a lot of snow is now in the gullys, i think from such a cool summer is the reson for the good snow patch suvievel numbers, there was a lot of snow in the gullys at end of last year and the very settled weather we had in apral just consoladated them. and keeped them frosen also i have a qestion? the snow that we are haveing just now has been here for a while now, in the past years we always get some sort of snow in november but always it compleatly disapears till end of dec of jan! when was the last time we had snow from nov right though the winter? some of my climbing photos are on a web site called snow conditions and click on the conditions page ps i climb not spell!!!!! sorry

a very light dusting of snow up on the cairngorms this morning and a nice frost, the snow patches are looking slim on garbh coire mor mind, will try and get some photos up but im not great at this computer thing!! with warm temps comeing in this week not too sure how they will fair! but im sure the november snows will come, and i hope they will survive! any news on the aonach mor/beag ones? steve

sorry geordiesnow, im new to this and did not look propaly at the prevoise old posts, but thanks for pointing me on the right thread, B) iv sort of got my anwser, reading that thread

there is still big patches of snow on the north face of ben nevis, and i think there not going to melt before winter comes back, this is very rare,... ?!? in scotland we did not have a great snow fall but yet big patches still exsit. is this because of the very cool summer we have had and dose any one know when the last time year round snow exsited?? steve Hammond
