  1. bluearmy probably means regarding continuity. There hasn't been any and so if it's still showing it might be worth noting.
  2. daz_4 probably low enough 850s early on for a little snow and then perfectly possible for a local cold pool to hang on and build in that flow. 10 days away may as well be a month currently though.
  3. Low pressure forming on the southern arm of the jet. Pushing in Wednesday is bringing threat of frontal snow.
  4. That's fine, will also help to achieve double digit severe frost. All good.
  5. Models seemingly sniffing out a change but as ever timing, orientation etc will make a huge difference. Needs some continuity before getting too excited.
  6. I have recently come to the same conclusion. We have no long term planning in this country largely because any new Party in government almost automatically reverses the previous plans. That said they are all useless anyway.
  7. You are hoping the two come together and 2 plus 2 equals 5. However, it is incredibly difficult to define the individual impacts.
  8. Did not read to me as having a go. Just discussing. You can't see facial expressions in type without an emoji. Please express your views but also expect others to disagree at times. This is generally a friendly place.
  9. Mean temp below average here and 7 days lying snow. Looking forward, is currently likely to be dry and mild but that hasn't happened yet so I am not sure how the winter has failed, certainly IMBY.
  10. A the end of January I will have had mean temp of around 4.5 for Dec/January and lying snow for 7 days. Can live with that. However, I agree fully with your post above. Winter in March is not really winter and that looks like our only hope with current output.
  11. Need the rain though and general intensity is perfect for reservoirs and groundwater.
  12. Your term of warmest year on record is correct. The headline of warmest year ever, totally incorrect of course.
  13. Rather than deliver cold spells direct, they interfere with "normal " circulation and provide a potential reset and thus possibility of cold.
