Lightningboy

Looks very thundery here but the main band of that rain is going to the west of us, but some pretty heavy rain or showers coming towards me.

The rain has got heavier and still getting heavier and getting darker and darker.

Just started to rain here but only light for now

Hi all So far today we started off with some heavy showers but since then its been dry but mainly cloudy, though there have been some decent sunshine. Its breezy and now some dark clouds coming over and nice shower coming towards me on the radar.

Yes Ive seen that too and its edging closer and closer to men, but i dont think any Lightning has been picked up.

Okay so today or well yesterday now, Started off wet with some very strongs also along with this was some very strong waves and a very rough sea. The Rain got quite heavy between 10:30 am and 11:00am. The Rain Cleared at about 11:30am to leave a nice sunny afternoon though this came along with some very strong winds and leaving the sea very rough. As we went through the Evening we had some showers come over us and some of them was very heavy on parts of the Isle of Wight, but where i am my area probably got off lightly though saw some amazing cloud formations and structures, had thunder potential written all over it. Overal it wasnt all that chilly only the wind made it feel chilly, felt quite nice in the sun in the Afternoon. :lol: Maximum Temperature 11.7c Minimumum Temperature 6.0c Now we have just had a heavy shower pass threw with some strong winds and still spitting a little on the back edge of the shower. Dosent feel al that cold out there with a Temperature of 6.6c

Nice shower coming towards me and starting to rain, It is very windy out there and black as hell.

Okay so today started of on a nice dry and quite a bright note but felt chilly in the wind, as the day went on clouds to gather alot and by about 1pm started to get bit of rain on and off but was light. about an hour later more organised rain started to fall and was slowly getting heavier, as i was about to get the bus back to sandown from newport the rain got really heavy but it was more convective type rain as the raindrops were enourmous some of them. Now it is still raining quite heavy but not with the big drops like earlier quite chilly and a bit of a breeze about. Temperature 9.1c Rainfall today 12.9mm

Well certainly convective type rain here at the moment, there are some huge raindrops and some very nice cloud structures.

Hi all after a nice start to the day its been raining for the pass couple of hours and has cooled down to a temp of 7.7c

Okay It has now started to rain but wind seems to have died down again

Its changed a bit out there now since my last post, has now gone completely cloudy and the wind is picking up a bit. Feels a tad cooler out there but not by much and dont think rain is too far away Temperature is now 10.0c

Hi all So far today its been a nice pleasent day with a bright spells and a fair bit of cloud about, It dosent feel cold at all even in the lightning breeze we have. Though on the radar theres some rain pushing in and i know we are sposed to get rain later but for the meantime am going to enjoy this nice weather we current got. Temperature 10.9c with a light WSW wind

Not necearily dont know you spell that, but it could be like a April 2008 event maybe i hope. Cheer up Charts look interesting though

Thats okay i love doing long posts when its Thunderstorms anyway its raining now but i cant see there being any the thunder tonight or this evening.

Okay more detailed into what happened yesterday. At about 11:30am i left college early to go home because i was sposed to be going to the doctors about my throat. Anyway when i came out of class and looked outside there some pretty dark looking clouds and really dark to the south with big rain shafts, It had just started raining and gradually started getting heavyier and by the time i got to the town centre and bus station to get bus it aboslute hammered down for about 30 min but didnt thunder. By the time i got home it started brightening up though on the radar there some nasty showers building to the south and some lightning being picked up. at about 3:35 i looked at radar again and the rain was neally on us but looked very potent, i went upstairs to look at the sky within 10 seconds of opening the window heard the first rumble of thunder but was kinda distant though was crackly, I shouted to my mum and my mate its THUNDERING LOL!!! My mate who lives next door to me also loves storms and as does his mum and his step dad. Anyway me and my mate went down to the sea front to get a better view as we couldnt see the sky properly, when we got down there then we was like oh thats why it thundered was pure black coming over and we was having a discussion of where to go to watch it and then all of a sudden big CG hit to the right of us which was closish with loudish the thunder. My mate phoned his mum to tell that the storm was getting close and thunder and lightning was getting more frequent and then heavens opened, so his mum drove up to culver so we can see all around and the lightning strikes were very big and striking about 4 a minute. when we got up there an enormous CG hit about just 50 yards infront of us with a huge explosion of thunder. The Thunderstorm went on for another 10 or 15 minutes and then the winds started getting very stong and went all misty with more very close lightning and thunder. For March this was amazing and dont think ive ever seen a storm like that before in march, anyway it eventtually passed on and we went home feeling happy and we could still hear the distant thunder and see lightning over the mainland, it was fun and hoping more in summer and longer lasting.

WOHOO im so happy now, had quite a lot of thunder and lightning on this part of the island, all CGS and loud thunder, there still distant rumbling going on and so good hear the first proper storm of the year

Hi all after a nice start to the day until about 3pm, It started clouded over and since then theres been the odd spit and spot of rain. Its quite mild though out there infact dosent feel cold at all Temperature is at 10.0c with a max of 15.3c

That does look like potent cell and looks interesting. Not sure if im in the right place but feels a little muggy here at the moment jsut wondering if there will be any kind thundery weather here tonight as well.

Hi all Been a beutiful day so far but should rain later, its still sunny out there but more hazy now than anything with high level cloud such as cirrus and cirrostratus and cirrocumulus. Feels very nice out there though and mild Temperature at 15.0c but 14.2c in Newport

Hi everyone, Yesterday we had thunder early morning between 6 and 7, and at about 3pm saw a big flash of Lightning and a clap of thunder and then started hailing very heavy.

Indeed, this is imo a typical snow shower february day I love watching the snow shwoers develop in february

Been having Snow Showers all morning and just had a heavyish one

I reckon we will get some sort of snow during the week, After all February is always our best month for snow usually
