Happy snow/cold hunting 2023/24 everyone! Be really interesting to see how it pans out re any impact of El Nino! Hope we have one to remember!!

I know you somehow missed quite a bit your way. Most frustrating one I remember for that was February (?) 2012 I think...a Saturday. Snowed pretty heavily from early hours through to late at night, and after an initial dusting, just nothing. Meanwhile just over the bridge in England all the way down to London, they were buried. That was a kicker for me... Quite happy with what we got - but obviously doesn't quite make up for particularly for two winters on the spin without anything significant. Roll on the next chance.

Enjoying it while it lasts. Pretty big thaw with me that I can't imagine it'll do much to cover. So nice to see some falling snow throughout the day though, and a nice surprise I guess! PXL_20230308_151447613.TS.mp4

Radar definitely lighting up. Hopefully the increased ppn rates turn it and keep it snow shaped for us near sea level

Yep, thaw is setting in. Pretty much sleet here now. Still imagine the snow hanging around for the day though, so much better for many of us than what winter proper brought! Fingers crossed for more southerly corrections through today and tomorrow, but otherwise good luck to those up north!

Couple of inches here, but pavements and roads are pretty clear - so not quite as good as January 2021. But great to see areas further west got their fill for once!

Yep! Met Office forecast gets better by the hour, so here's to hoping Gonna get a few hours sleep as I'm sure checking on it stops it accumulating, ahaha

Yeah, I think as the heavier stuff keeps moving in it should all be good. Really hate the lower ground down here though sometimes. Crazy how different some of the higher up places in Newport can be - Bettws, Malpas, Christchurch etc.
