  1. We've actually moved to Staplehurst just before Christmas, but sadly I'm stuck with this username lol which tends to cause some confusion admittedly. I seem to be within the western edge of the shower train, the eastern edge being Ashford way and all points in between here and Ashford having significant snowfall
  2. Put it this way - I have seen 8 hours of non-stop blizzard-like snow giving some 8cm or more on top of the lying snow. Pretty much 1cm / hr now that ain't bad, and most unforecast (scattered showers was the forecast). So I'm not complaining  Basically anything could pop-up this evening, don't give up just yet!
  3. thanks It's an amazing sight! I'll send you some when I've finished with it
  4. I am totally amazed at how much I have here, I have never seen this much snow in my life! Truly amazing and it just keeps on falling! Anyway, pics as you requested... Using 30cm ruler... and my car. The left hand side of the car (passenger side) has been exposed to the sun everyday so all the snow slides off here, only to be replaced overnight., Hence there is a lot more on the roof than on the left side ! Hope that helps
  5. Give me 2 mins to upload No that's just what's lying on the floor lol. About 6/7cm today so far.
  6. oh dear, a gap is appearing on the radar, currently around the Faversham, Whitstaballs and Sheppey area, moving this way! our beloved trough is moving westwards, allowing the upper warm front on the other side of the Chunnel to move in - precip increasing over NE France, albeit light! edit: panic over, the 'gap' was a blip
  7. 12z NAE still going for heaviest snow in NW/W Kent and N East Sussex, with up to 7cm widely by dawn tomorrow in that area. However, only a further 1-3cm widely during tomorrow itself.
  8. Judging by this: http://212.100.247.145/fax/PPVA89.png Then yes! It's part of the upper warm front
  9. where's my car gone!? oh, under gawd knows how much snow!
  10. 14 miles between junctions 8 (Leeds Castle) and junction 9 (Ashford North). I know what you mean! and still the blizzards continue... Stupid white van keeps going past our house at 1mph with 'Rent a Van' on the side. It's the only vehicle I've seen all day on our estate
  11. at times these really fine snowflakes turn into a white haze, making visibility very poor due to the strength of the wind. Occasionally the flakes get a little larger to moderate size, but nothing majorly heavy yet just the strength of the wind! Temp plummeting after a high of 1.2C, currently -0.7C
  12. I would but the camera won't pick up the blizzard's we've got, the snow flakes are so fine and small but it's just wild put it that way to be fair, it's not heavy here either, but it's the wind that makes all the difference! looks wild out there
  13. have you been dry most of the day?! It's insane here, 7 inches on the ground now the most snow I've ever seen in this low lying part of the Weald! Once it hits you you'll deffo know about it - surprised at the difference just a few miles can make.
  14. One word sums up this... amazing! Can see snow pelting it down, blowing from car roofs all over the places, some really big (25cm ish) drifts against some fences!
  15. they are here, been constant snow, albeit light, from mid morning onwards so far, blizzard conditions. Going for a measure in a sec. MW
  16. Notice they have kept the same snowfall criteria (7-12cm widely, up to 20cm locally) but it now ends at 23:59 tomorrow rather than 10:00 tomorrow, so that to me indicates it is lighter but more persistent than thought yesterday?
  17. I dispair! The Flash warning for heavy snow last night expired at 11am. It's not an upgrade nor downgrade. Edit: looks like Essex, mid Wales and the Pennines will be included in an Early warning now!
