  1. Here's a couple of photos I got of last weekends storms in Brisbane
  2. Now day 39 in Brisbane without rain, possible storm tomorrow night, if nothing happens we're looking at being in mid to late 40's days with no rain.
  3. I moved to Brisbane from Scotland 3 months ago and noticed this news this morning "This morning was the fifth consecutive morning of sub-zero temperatures in Alice Springs, a new May record. The previous record May run was four mornings, in 1976." If the world weather is really all linked and intertwined, maybe we're running into a repeat of 1976, and we all know what happened in the UK that summer.
  4. I saw it when driving the kids home, I thought it was a firework at first. I was driving South and it went left to right so it came from the East. Nothing spectacular though
  5. Not all of Scotland Decent snow on the 22nd December has been the lot for Glasgow
  6. Glasgow at southern edge of all this snow, can it last all night?
  7. it's certainly not lying in Glasgow City centre, despite snowing heavily for more than 3 hours. I better find the 5 mile trip South at 5pm has made a difference!!!
  8. Yikes is Glasgow about to get it's first decent snow of this "historic winter" since the 22nd December. Here's hoping.
  9. Well as a resident of Glasgow I'll remember it as being cold for a few weeks that's about it. 1 Decent snowfall and 2 small ones. Some very cold nights and days No problems getting to work or driving, no inconvenience other than having to thaw out the car a few times a day. All in all pretty boring.
  10. My car briefly dropped to -15c just as I came off the mate at J4 this morning heading for Bathgate, it was -14.5c in Bathgate itself. Whitburn only a few miles from there
  11. LOL, that was a new one on me as well, icicle patrols being carried out in all electrified tunnels.
  12. What do you do Argyll? Scotrail? Work for Network Rail myself. Points failures causing mayhem at the moment, an average January day should have 25,000 delay minutes nationwide, yesterday was 125,000 minutes. This could spell is certainly damaging one thing, my bonus!!!
  13. Left Glasgow at 07.30 car was reading -9.5c, which seems to tie in with what others had. Arrived in Bathgate at 08.30 to -14c. Bathgate also has at least a foot of snow lying in areas untouched.
  14. Am I the only one fed up with it now? Several inches of ice covering everything isn't quite as attractive as fresh snow!! The roads in Glasgow seem to be deteriorating daily and are in all honesty a disgrace, I assume the continual melting and refreezing is causing cracks in the road to open more and more. I've already had to replace a tyre due to hitting a pothole. More snow required
  15. How has the south of Spain been faring the last 3 weeks when receiving all the rain normally destined for the UK?
