  1. Took a trip up to newbury on sunday and then over to hungerford and over the top to Malborough. Bucket loads. Kids could not believe it. Bournemouth win and saw loads of snow!!!!!!!!!
  2. Quite right. Just spoken to my parents who live in broadway and they have a coulple of inches already. So what must it be at stow on wold and such places.
  3. Woke at 6.00am it was raining. Still raining now, very hard. There must be problems in some areas with regards flooding. A balmy 8 degrees though.
  4. I may well be wrong. however, i feel that any where from the cotswolds north will get snow. Some places will get snow from the start and some will have rain that turns to snow later. Snow could well settle on surfaces that are wet through rain as the wet surfaces would turn to ice and snow will settle on ice. The bigger risk to the areas already mentioned not getting snow would be the low tracking further south. The models may well not be showing this at the mo but with a storm like this it will be a little unpredicitable. It is not many days ago when the south west got a dumping from a system that was said to be more likely further east. What is fairly sure is that down here we are likely to get heavy rain and very strong winds. I for one are looking forward to the middle of the week and all be it that it will be cold it should be a lot calmer.
  5. Superb. Are there any roads around there where they have filled in with snow, then a plough has been through creating walls of snow?
  6. Running out of grit is unforgivable. I love the comments "laughing stock of the French" Having worked with many French people over the years whilst working in the restaurant business, i would suggest most of them have always needed cheering up and if us getting a big dump of snow and not being able to deal with it, makes them smile, then this is good on two accounts. we have lots of snow and its made them smile. Two things that rarely happen. So inconclusion, authorities keep up the good work!
  7. Where in the cotswolds? used to live at stow on wold. Would love to be there at the mo.
  8. Parents live near SNOWSHILL. 5 inches there I am Told.
  9. Steady rain, tour one hunred years old acording to your profile!!!!!!!!!
  10. Head to the new forest, still a good covering. Don't be to down.It may feel like the day after Christmas day when you realise present wasn't as good as you thought and want a better one. I think the models are showing potential in the not to distant future. Winter is not over. For all who are futher North, which is basicaly everyone from here, enjoy the snow. If it is rain or sleet you get then remember this why we get excited at the possibility of snow. Because it does not usually happen as we do not live in Canada. Their forum would be snowing again here. Still Bl@@dy snowing here.
  11. You may be right but remember this is the leading edge and the "warmer" air is due as the front moves through or whilst it is moving through. Having said that your location is good imo.
  12. Well, Rain, sleet or snow. Its on its way. Just started to rain down here in bournemouth.
  13. Well snow is slippery, clearly must have fallen over!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. You may well wake up to more in the morning. Same applies to malvern as the cotswolds.
  15. I think the cotswolds will be the place to be. Snow for the whole period and when the low stalls and turns to go s/e this is where i think it will happen.
  16. Superb photo's. seeing those drifts takes me back to when i lived in the cotswolds and we used to get the same thing.
  17. Today will be interesting. There is some showers showing in the chanel and even just looking south you can see cloud cover heading our way. The last snow fall last night was at 1.15am 15min heavy shower.
