Watching the storm band coming toward swindon It's flashing away on a regular basis of every ten to twenty seconds. Should be a good show once it hits! -

I'm smack in the middle of that. Surprised to get that today - haven't seen much in the way of potential for today? Anyway, here's the convective weather forecast. http://www.convectiveweather.co.uk/forecast.php?date=2021-08-02 -

Yup, looking back at the radar, the initial front split right over us and then disintegrated as it pivoted. Now it's going around us! Just been out and it was trying to sleet but nothing of note here. Onto the next opportunity! Congrats to those in the region who got some today! Also if you want to see something interesting, go on Google maps and turn in the traffic reports to see the road situation near Bewdley and Kidderminster - complete carnage at the moment.

Just had thunder and lightning under this squall line over swindon. The wind is also horrendous and it's just started hailing. -

That was weird, normal rain rates here, nothing stormy to speak of, and then suddenly a cloud-cloud lightning strike above my head! Wasn't expecting that, thought we were way too far north of the action. -

Looks like the cells on the m4/m40 corridors are now changing to a more northerly track than westerly. Here's my current view looking east from Swindon -
