  1. Watching the storm band coming toward swindon It's flashing away on a regular basis of every ten to twenty seconds. Should be a good show once it hits!
  2. I'm smack in the middle of that. Surprised to get that today - haven't seen much in the way of potential for today? Anyway, here's the convective weather forecast. http://www.convectiveweather.co.uk/forecast.php?date=2021-08-02
  3. Moderate snow with big flakes here in Swindon. But not settling at all - maybe just a touch too warm?
  4. A few more flakes mixing in with the rain now but looking at the radar it won't last too long. Here's hoping our chances are better later!
  5. Just rain in Swindon, with the odd flake of sleet every couple of minutes!
  6. Morning all! Light snow here in Swindon this morning from this shower.
  7. Yup, looking back at the radar, the initial front split right over us and then disintegrated as it pivoted. Now it's going around us! Just been out and it was trying to sleet but nothing of note here. Onto the next opportunity! Congrats to those in the region who got some today! Also if you want to see something interesting, go on Google maps and turn in the traffic reports to see the road situation near Bewdley and Kidderminster - complete carnage at the moment.
  8. Just had thunder and lightning under this squall line over swindon. The wind is also horrendous and it's just started hailing.
  9. That was weird, normal rain rates here, nothing stormy to speak of, and then suddenly a cloud-cloud lightning strike above my head! Wasn't expecting that, thought we were way too far north of the action.
  10. Just had a storm firm right on top of us. Producing CG strikes too. Looks like things could get interesting further along the m4 corridor this evening!
  11. It's all just skirting by swindon. I'm in the town centre and we've had some gusts of wind, a small shower and thunder heard from a distance. Looks like Gloucestershire is getting a hammering though!
  12. Looks like the cells on the m4/m40 corridors are now changing to a more northerly track than westerly. Here's my current view looking east from Swindon
  13. I can see the cloud tops of the Birmingham storm flashing all the way from Swindon! Looks mental active.
  14. I can see the west London cell from Swindon - looks very active and can see it growing.
  15. Looks like things are taking off right above my head! Just 30 mins between the two radar images below:
