  3. Hey guys! I live on South coast, haven't seen a flake of snow in years (literally), is it worth driving over 100 miles to the midlands (an back) to see the elusive snow?
  4. Does anyone know if Brighton is close to storm track? Also how are people planning to celebrate this event?
  5. Haloween Storm Party on brighton beach, Midnight Sunday night anyone? We will be down there in any case with the old barbie Might get a bit damp i guess so bring a jumper and possibly even a coat, wouldn't want anyone to catch a cold like.

  8. Looks like Salisbury / new forest area is the place to be for T-storms occuring right now.
  9. my heated paddling pool is going to cause a lightening bolt one day xD Warm and rather rainy here not much else atm. Good luck with the storms guys!
  10. Everyone interested (you guys i hope) should turn there central heating off over the coming snow period to reduce urban heat pollution, and as an act against global warming! Call it a snow day!!
  11. i think why your all getting wildly different and low pressure readings is due to altitude; the higher you are the lower the pressure
  12. These considerable differences are most likely due to elevation above sea level; pressure drops rapidly with even a small rise in altitude. To compensate for this instruments should ideally be sea level calibrated.
  13. Yeah 70mph Gusts would be way out of the normal range on the South coast i'm thinking? Double storm monday night and thursday possible! Monday night one looks slightly weaker but more probable.
  14. Personally I would be honored to see such a big storm even if it killed me, as long as i got to see it first.
  15. Netweather says up to 60mph gusts Brighton (coastal) and i would go with that. Obviously more if your up North near the coast.
  16. Cheers Paula! If Michael Fish tells us there's no hurricane or anything to worry about then you know its time to run.
  17. I really hope so! Brighton by the sea could use a good storm! Hey you northerners send this down south when you've had your fun heh?! P.s. Brighton is South of London if you can imagine such a thing!
  18. Its what any decent scientist would do! http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/ Far less ice than there should be this time of year and every year in memmory. Every year less.
