Day one   meeting and greeting new guests and saying farewell to the departing guest with the knowledge that if they enjoyed it , they will return.

After a leisurely Thai meal on Tower Road the team set off for a fairly short jaunt to Burlington, Colorado where they spent the night,

Day two.  The severe weather has taken a breather and is recharging for its next episode. There was a thought to consider heading north to the Dakotas for a chance of severe weather but it quite a trek north and might have left the team with a challenge getting back for the next round of severe storms on the central plains.   Denver and the view of the Rockies is hard to leave. Day 3 tour 2 :  today was a getting into a better target area for the storm potential on Sunday. So we started off in Oklahoma City and paid a visit to the Twistex memorial near El Reno. We then took in a bit of route 66 ending up in Enid for lunch, after which we took the team to the Twister museum in Wakita where we were given a tour and a talk by Linda the museum manager.  We ended the  day in Pratt , Kansas and are in a great location for severe weather potential starting tomorrow. See photos.

Day 4   I think.  When I get time   I will post more. Basically today added a lot of items to the guests tick box. Some items they may have not wanted but will talk about for years to come.  Large explosive supercell, tyre blow out and one mile wide tornado. Arrived safely in Woodward.  Photos courtesy later.

Day 4    started the day in Woodward , Oklahoma.  Target area Akron Colorada. Watched and chased a beautiful storm that went severe and tornado warned.  Watched it for a long while and then set off ahead of it to McCoys,  Nebraska.  We are currently under a tornado warning, destructive baseball size hail and 90 mph winds.  Storm has flooded town and turned some into winter wonder lands.  The DOW team arrived at our location

Report from Paul Botten

Tour 2 Chase Day 5 - Iowa

Started today in McCook after an underperforming Colorado day. My chase Target today was pretty straight forward east of a surface low that was lifting north from Concordia. So we set our sights on just east of the Missouri River into extreme SW Iowa. A Supercell formed right on the Low near Beatrice and raced towards us, it soon gained a Tornado warning and raced towards us at 55mph. This Supercell never produced but as we headed further east we caught our first Tornado of the day near Red Oak. This was only the start of the next 2 hours of madness with every Supercell along the E-W boundary seemingly producing Tornadoes at ease. Near Corning we headed east for an intercept at 200 yards behind us with RFD slamming our vehicle, onwards and another imminent touchdown was about to happen, this one upon cresting a hill we stopped and let the Tornado touch down behind us at 100 yards, ripping trees out of the ground and then drilling the ground to our north. Tornado number 4 near Prescott hit a house around 500 yards in front of us and ripped parts of the roof off and threw it over the road. The last Tornado was the start of the violent Greenfield Tornado and the shot I have is not even zoomed in to see the power of this Tornado as it raced North. All in all a very challenging chase day and I am thankful to my skilled drivers once again for seriously good skills.
Absolutely devastated at the loss of lives today and the destruction to Property. Thinking once again of the people of Iowa.

Some Pics Below.

Tour 2 - Chase Day 7 (SW Oklahoma)

Report from Paul

I sound like a stuck record but what am incredible day. Target today was Mangum and after leaving Ardmore in Thick fog with Temps of 74/74 I knew today had some serious potential from the off.
We ate a leisurely lunch at the World Famous Meers Burger joint and ambled to Mangum for 2pm. After gassing up we headed west to watch the dryline erupt. One supercell caught my eye from the get go SW of Mangum and we waited for it to cross the Red River, it was joined by another and a cell merger occurred. We repositioned to Duke and watched the approach. A lovely Classic Supercell was starting to look interesting and latched some sort of boundary around 615pm. From there a 40 minute Tornado occurred and shape shifted to various different shapes from Wedge to Cone to Stovepipe, at times it was violent with helical vortexes, we were about 1/2 mile south and could clearly hear the roar whilst watching this beautiful thing in the dry with screaming hot inflow winds at our back
Another absolutely incredible day for Tour 2 moving onto 7 Tornadoes in 7 days.
Now sitting in a war zone with Lightning trying to wipe Altus out 😆
See picture

25th May  Kansas

Decent day 9 for Tour 2 and their 9th Tornado out of 10 days in Kansas today near Corwin (KS)
We targeted the Triple Point on the KS/OK border and a nice High Based Supercell formed east of a weak surface low. The Storm struggled throughout its life cycle and got interfered with on 3 occasions from left split Hail rockets. When it did finally produce a white Multi Vortex Tornado another cell merger bumped it north of the warm front and our day was done. We did run alongside this Tornado for around 10 minutes and drove past a house that had its roof ripped off.

Last chase day for Tour 2 and the weather system had moved too far east for us to chase.  So we tried to see what the storms from Wyoming could offer but they couldn't deliver. So we ended up in Colby, Kansas and we watched  Twister the Movie.   Here are some more shots from yesterday's storm,   taken by Jeff Prescott
