I got caught in a huge storm on the North Yorkshire moors this afternoon. I could see it building up as I approached the moors but was unfortunately unable to take any photos. Lasted only about half-an-hour and no T & L, but certainly dumped a load of rain in that time.

Morning all. 😊

The U.K. Meto have just issued another yellow thunderstorm warning. 👀👍🏻

As always, good luck to everyone with this today.

Not much happening on radar at all so far despite the warnings. Looks like France and Germany the place to be today.

Gone a lot cooler now with a few towers about. Could be the lot to keep an eye on later

Turquoise Indeed. Turkey v Georgia could be interesting soon in Dortmund at 17:00. On sat 24, looks like there’s cells firing near the Belgium/German border near Lux heading NE!
Leipzig later on too at 20:00 where it’s about to currently get ravaged by round 1 of the warm front storms heading E!

Just driven through that storm to the slight west of Barnsley. Can confirm the rain was biblical for a period, plenty of thunder and some good lightning.

Here in Bingley we've just had a brilliant storm(not alot of thunder). The rain was some of the heaviest I've seen and decent size hail. Lasted full on for about 20 mins but it's caused some right damage to pavements and roads around here.

The odd rumble of Thunder from the NNW which isn't the normal direction for any thundery activity.

Weren't expecting any convective activity around here today, but some stunning cumulonimbus heads and anvils to my north. Most likely the heavy showers near to Derby.

Yes, I got caught in that storm whilst driving home to Cheshire from North Yorkshire yesterday evening. Torrential on the A64, M1 and M62 but disappeared by the time I came off the Pennines towards Manchester. No T & L observed but I'm sure there would have been some mixed up in the elements.

A Face like Thunder Yes there was some fairly frequent lightning thunder around 5pm to the south of my work in Cleckheaton, but the real rain arrived from the north in a new cell just after that!

GFS and ECM have shown a plume event next week on recent runs. Timing all over the shop - somewhere between Weds and Fri if it comes off.

Early days though, lots of model runs to come to keep watch of this one if it even comes to pass.

Early next week is starting to look pretty ripe on recent runs churned out. I may be willing to chase if we see this maintained into high res output. If justified, and we do see CAPE of 2500+ with a bit of shear to boot, I may be up for doing a long distance chase. I’ll watch this space carefully!
