small surprise storm to my east. Saw a decent amount of lightning

Nice looking downburst looking southeast, passing over thorne after it left me. Dropped some small hail and gusty outflow winds as it went over me. Little bit of lightning! And plenty of thunder. Had a gust front follow it just after this clip was taken, it got so cold I could see my own breath. In June!

Got some rumbles of thunder now. Quite a change when it looked clear skies earlier

Quite a change the past hour. An hour ago it was mostly clear skies with a strong sun so I imagine that helped boost up some showers 

[Thundery wintry showers]

Surprising to see some thundery activity kick off late in the evening in this kind of Arctic northerly. The majority of it was around Doncaster and for a while it looked like it was fizzling out before it got to Lincoln, but it briefly kicked off again just before it arrived and I saw one of the lightning strikes to my north-north-west, cloud-to-cloud lightning across the horizon.

Some developing showers near Stoke on Trent, 50-60 miles away around sunset yesterday. Pretty good visibility with the Arctic sourced airmass!

Bit of altocumulus undulatus I think to the north east here. Been some rather interesting cloudscapes these past couple of days. 

A bit difficult to see from the picture however.

[A Face like Thunder]

A lasting memorial to two huge thunderstorms which struck Crewe exactly a year ago on the evening of Monday 12th June 2023. Fortunately, no-one was underneath the tree when it was struck by lightning.

 Shaunado yes I was surprised to see some really nice sharp cumulus towers earlier this morning. I think there was some pileus too

Member 6 of the gem giving me some hope, 4 days of consecutive 1000+cape. 30+ temps midlands south aswell.

Seems to be some movement in models for support of a plume scenario, early days but fingers crossed.
