May wasn't too bad. There were some good storms on the 6th, 12th, 18th and 26th.

June was awful for storms. Luckily I escaped to France for two days and got my storm fix.

Could be some thundery showers around tomorrow, on Sunday and then Kent clipper possibilities on Tuesday evening. For these parts, Sunday looks the best chance. Nothing overly exciting though.

Not producing any lightning, but an interesting looking feature off of Cornwall, this:

ChannelThunder Thats the feature that expected to produce a few storms later tonight over East Mids and Lincolnshire.

Few strikes now there, although the CAPE values look low so probably won't last long..

Im not suprised that there are some lightning strikes somewhere at the moment to be honest. I was just outside a half hour ago and could see quite a bit of mid-level unstable clouds about even here in West Wales.

TJS1998Tom such a low risk so I wouldn't put much to it.

After 2 such be the best chance, albeit looks very low. Also any storms likely to be short lived considering the lack of CAPE around, until it increases as it moves towards the Wash/North Sea.

I'm liking the CAPE amounts that enter the channel at the end of the latest WRF-NMM run! Looks a bit kent-clipperish though (which isn't always the worst for East Sussex as we get distant lightning... So long as it stays our side of the Dover Strait)

We have activity in the SW, storm season may be coming back with more of the forecasts potentially.

Meanwhile, 18z GFS appears to bring an absolute ripper of an MCS into Kent that initiates East of Cherbourg, which would probably light up the Channel like a Christmas tree in it's path! Very 28th-29th May 2017-esque!

We have lightening here in S Wales.. Strange that only a week ago I was in Spain and at the same time of night at 1am we had storms until 4am lol.

The4Seasons How long has it been going on for as I have been seeing distant faint flashes for the last hour or so but I thought it was lightning occurring in the southwest of England?

It has been for about an hour. Rolling up the North Coast of S west England and up the Bristol Channel and now touching the south coast of S Wales. Had a few louder claps of thunder in the last 30 mins.

Wow, some actual storms firing up over the SW heading NE!! A more interesting night than I thought it would be. It does have a very muggy feel to things out there to be honest.

There’s a very decent amount of Deep layer shear up there tonight (over 40m/s from Bristol to Lincs) so that’s one thing that might be adding a bit more spice to things, despite fairly modest mid level instability! Also probably why these storms are showing some interesting radar characteristics.

Distant lightning seen! Albeit through almost completely cloudy skies.
