Thunder here.

[A Face like Thunder]

Big rumbles of thunder here in Crewe an hour ago accompanied by a heavy shower. I was in church at the time so didn't see any lightning but I suspect there were flashes. We were expecting showers but not of this intensity.

Just rain here.

That sort of rain that we used to have throughout the 90s where it’s just featureless noisy rain that gets everywhere.
 

It’s the sort of rain that would make your copy of FHM go all soggy as you were walking back from Woolworths.

Lovely conveyor belt of heavy showers headed to London, glad of the brolly already, will dump it before Wemberleee

Just had a very heavy shower with pea sized hail pass over us at Bempton on the Yorkshire Coast. Quite short lived and soon melted.

Few showers about now here in central Lincolnshire but nothing thundery about apart from around Hull.

 jtay this has now moved over to this area, giving several good claps of thunder.  Nothing showing on lightning maps funnily enough though.

Hard to get back into the swing of forecasting and discussions but today is a good day to watch out for good looking showers and storms. At least here in Southampton as I'm visiting the University some of that low-level cloud is 'melting' away and being replaced by blue skies. Expect more to form and the risk of lightning should increase into the afternoon and evening.

We had a burst of heavy rain here this morning (I was still sleeping - guilty) but no thunder to wake me. I always say it but good luck everyone today, I think I'm out of the chances but looking forward to all of your captures.

 

I'll arrive on holiday in Jullouville, France this Saturday so if anything happens there I'll be sure to post it (in the European chat, I think posting here would be cheating on British weather...)

Its ok but I'll probably either want to go to Holloway as I liked it just a bit more or stay close to home at Kent. I don't think I'll want to take Meteorology at Reading, I prefer it as a hobby.
