This time last year it was very wet and everyone was moaning, now it's very dry and everyone's moaning.🙂 Let's face it most of us on here are only happy when the weather is extreme, ie boiling hot, severe winds, copious amounts of snow, thunder storms etc. Alas we live in Britain where, in the main, the weather is mundane most of the time but it this that makes us appreciate the more extreme weather when it does occur all the more👍

John88B While the anticyclonic gloom is boring its at least not disrupting any plans/activities (Well maybe apart from fog for higher ground) and its November so less a punch to the gut. Saying that I think to clear out the stagnant cloud we need a injection of ether a drier continental airmass or a strong push of cleaner westerly Atlantic air to flush it out.

HarvSlugger if you run every slide of the radar the odd area of drizzle shows up randomly then disappears.

Really frustrating on every level!

BlueHedgehog074 I noticed we got quite a lot of sun throughout October which was nice. Normally October's are dark, dull affairs.

Was surprised to see my car thermometer reading 12.5c - I’m freezing!

Unbelievable! This person that lives 450m above sea level in the west Midlands is 6c right now, 5c colder than places at sea level around that area😨

After a few days where there have at least been some cloud breaks, no such luck here today. Sky has looked exactly the same from about 10am to 2pm. Feels like it's getting dark already at 3.30.

Summer8906 October hasnt been that bad. Yes, slightly duller than average but actaully not a wet October for once (rainfall about or just below average). I would rate it a 5.5/10, and September around a 5/10

Went out to collect some tables. It was drizzling. Very 2024. 2023 brought cloud, 2024 brought drizzle. What's 2025 going to bring!?? ...

Azazel not a warm 12.5 though, little wind and no rain, 12.5C with gales and rain to me would feel a lot warmer especially later in Nov through to March

I think the cloudiest start to November I can remember. There could, though, have been some starts to past November’s that were just as bad that I’ve forgotten.

We’ll see how bad the next few days are but the only comparable ones I can think of wrt complete absence of sun are 2015 (after the 01st) and 2008.
