April snow not a fan of, as soon as the sun pops out it quickly does its job turning it into a slushy messy mix. However, on the fells there is something alpine about walking in snow and a warm sun, and it can stay intact easily. It has a habit of hanging around thanks to likelihood of more settled weather.

Snow from late October to end of March I'm fine with, though by mid March the chances of a full day of snow cover below 200m becomes increasingly less likely.

Snow at any time is good for me even if it is just watching it falling.

To see snow falling in the depths of winter is even a miracle, in April it would be insane, so yes.

Freeze It would almost seem that snow is more likely in April than during the depths of winter these days, the way the seasons have gone!

Dundee, Kingennie Terrace. 12th April 1963.

Just had a heavy snow shower, on a trough, probably.

We were about 17.  The ted in the picture came from a Victorian tenement near Tannadice Park (Dundee United).  He was a great pal.  We created a chemistry lab in the air-raid shelter at the back of his tenement!  Kingennie Terrace was in the notorious Mid-Craigie council estate.  We both survived.  My friend became a dux in chemistry, then a teacher, then something in HM Schools Inspectorate.

The camera was a simple box thing fit for the bin, that I inherited, but it set me on my way.

Recall driving home to Beith after a night shift in Glasgow - 30th April mid 1970s?  Roads were appalling with about an inch of compacted snow, wet on top.

At home, the daffodils were all hanging over with the snow on them.

Snow in April, camping in the Cairngorms in the mid-1960s was unforgettable.66distnt.thumb.jpg.4c920c1bfef2dc13f2964043feaf7ae0.jpg
