Leeds festival, I messaged a friend whose teenager had gone, saying that they should have borrowed my storm pegs

but apparently, the £30 tent didn't have any guy ropes. Hope they still have it.

Storm Lilian brings winds of up to 60mph to Leeds as the festival begins at Bramham Park.

Max gust of 43.4mph up the road here and 22mph in the garden around 4:00AM this morning.

No disruptive damage from this, just a load of twigs and very small branches on the roads.

Windy in weymouth earlier strong winds funneling down the harbour which made going alongside some of our boats on the moorings a bit tricky so put the rib head to wind and used tick over ahead and neutral with small amounts of wheel to position myself next to one of ribs that had a fault

44 mph so no great shakes. Good job considering the number of wheelie bins left out due to strike action. Only saw two blown into road as I drove in to work at the peak.

GreyCrag Tree surgeon here, been clearing up some of said trees in Buxton. Certainly been a busy day for us. Think we were just on the southern edge of the MO warning area. Wasn't expecting it to be quite such an event. Certainly comparably busy days for us have usually come off the back of an amber at least!

matty40s Very poignant that , reminding me of my sister and I sat in the car watching mum and dad's efforts to dismantle a 7 berth frame tent in the severe gale of August '79 Polzeath Cornwall , the Storm that destroyed the Fastnet Race with tragic loss of many lives ...😢  and the absolute heroics of the rescue services from Ireland, Wales and England limiting the loss of life significantly

not too dissimilar to the track and depth of Lilian , albeit the Storm of August '79 hit peak intensity on the Storms' southern flank to the south of Ireland over the Fastnet Sea area.
