All is quiet here by my open fire. It’s time for me to sleep.  Goodnight folks 🐺

*Stormforce~beka* hell fire?  It’s blue and cool 😂

Sometimes fall asleep on my rug in front of my orange fire.  That fire is warmer & lights up a room.

Woodburner lit this evening, just burning a few odd bits to take off the chill.

Nope, I’m old school, I’m with and when the generation only had gas bar heating down stairs and nowt upstairs 😬🤭

Don’t get me wrong, my house is loaded with central heating, but it isn’t nowhere near chilly enough yet to turn that thermostat on just yet 😉

No never ever in September, will be on a little by the end of October not due to cold as it's usually still mild then but to help ease the damp.

I wait until November before turning the heat on, given we seem to take longer into the new year to get the warmth going again, waiting until November means a maximum of 5months of heating as necessary. BUT, then again I do live on the South Coast!

It wasn't as cool here this morning but it was still cool. Very wet all day...!

Fire will be lit in a bit; we've plenty of washing to put through and seeing as the tumble dryer decided to have a hissy fit and die at the weekend; the maidens will have to do the job later this evening 😂

Ah the forum page that makes me REALLY wish I had an open fire!

No heating on yet - it's 21.c in here.

But I have put the winter duvet on today because we've felt chilly in the early mornings in bed in recent days.

Summer duvert is a Tog 10, Winter a 13.5 tog. I'm sure the difference in warmth is mostly psychological!

I would like to know how warm a 15 tog duvet is, though.
