2011: the only year that had a recording of 25C in every month between April and October.

2011 wasn’t that memorable overall but it did have some interesting weather and that was I think it was the only year that had a recording of 25C in every month between April and October.

27.8C 23rd April

25.4C 7th may

33.1C 27th June

27.5C 5th July

30.3C 3rd August

29.2C 30th September

29.9C 1st October

Has any other year achieved this? I can’t think of any other years that have done it.

Summerlover2006  I remember 2011 as the year during which in every month from April to October somewhere in Britain had its highest temperature of that year.

2011 one of the driest years certainly as far as the 21st century goes.

But yes, two of the finest settled months and hotter months were April (akin to 2007) and October (especially early October).

Bit of an odd year overall. The Summer was pretty chilly though terms of christmas pudding with a CET of 14.9.

A lacklustre year for snowfall I imagine a considerable portion of the country may have recorded very little to no snowfall throughout this year even if they welcomed the New Year still with snow lying from the previous December.

April 2011 and latter half Sept/Oct certainly felt very pleasant to me some cracking weather at times.

Yep, an interesting year:

And as to whether any year achieved 25C or more in 7 months of the year i'm not sure, probably not. A lot of years this century so far usually reach 25C in 5-6 different months though

 Metwatch That's really cool map!

Only confirms that

a) very warm April (warmest on record)
b) very warm October (within top 10)
c) pretty chilly Summer overall especially July and August considering the majority of at least England and Wales recorded their top temps in Oct/June rather than July or August.

StretfordEnd1996 I hated 2011. We had an awful year. Other than April the weather was pretty rubbish in every other month. Definitely a forgettable year  it was among the wettest years on record in my part.

Hi Harry yes I'd tend to agree. I did enjoy the April too no doubt.

Hotter spells end of Sept/early Oct I often don't mind but for some reason on that occasion in 2011 it really just didn't feel right(?).

But yes, not a particularly memorable Summer by any means. All 3 winter months (Jan, Feb, Dec) were forgettable affairs as I said I would of thought large parts of the UK may not have even seen any snowfall of note in 2011. The Spring (specifically April) being the sole highlight. Autumn may be regarded as decent by some but I just kind of found it too unseasonable at times, and forgettable at other times.

StretfordEnd1996 we only got the last three days of September of the hot spell. I actually recorded the warmest day of 2011 on the 30th September. 1st October was heavy rain and windy here. Just didn’t happen for us unfortunately.

Aside from the first half of January we got very little snow, a little bit in March and a few flurries in the December but that was it. I think February was snowless that year.

Summer 2011 was disappointing particularly in August. June started and ended very well but had a long, cool and wet period in the middle of the month. July had a few days of extremely heavy rain and cool temperatures but had it not been for that it would’ve been a pretty decent month here, sunshine was slightly above average but the temperature let it down. August 2011 was awful definitely on par with 2008 and 2020.

I agree I’m not a huge fan of autumn heat but the September warmth wasn’t humid it was actually very pleasant. Then the rest of the autumn was just boring, I genuinely can’t remember anything worth noting for October or November. December did bring hurricane bawbag but that was it.

A very poor year for weather but even worse with it being absolutely boring with no exceptional rain, heat, cold or nothing

It was the first year for some time that I saw no snow at all in London, although we’d just had the epic December 2010 and the next big fall in February 2012 wasn’t too far away, definitely better than the long snowless run we had in the mid-2010s. I primarily remember the year for the hot April and especially late Sep/early Oct without much to shout about in between, other than that one 33c day in June which I often forget was the warmest day in my part of the country.

I still look back at it fondly as a good year for me, being in my early twenties and a whirlwind of parties and student nights out!
