Anyone know how to get archived radar images? Tried to take alook at the morphology of the 'tornado' and parent cell in Kidsgrove but low-res Ventusky isn't quite cutting it. Tried meteologix too.

Sprites No such thing as "mini tornado"! It's a tornado or not! Sorry about the damage I really am but it sounds like an F1 tornado

Daydream Boy People use the term because there’s a misunderstanding that we don’t get legitimate tornadoes in this country. Of course we do even if they are quite weak spin up type things.

Snowspout The NW radar goes back a day. Here's an animation cobbled together with a 24-year-old version of Paint Shop Pro!

Zak M At 1.20 am on 22nd September where I was at Hamstreet, there was a C-G strike a mile away causing a loud thunder clap with what sounded like an explosion during the normal rumble.

Neat looking line of cloud from the rain that passed overhead earlier. Nothing particularly exciting, but something a little more interesting to see in December.

So, given my 2024 (here at home) consisted of one distant rumble at 3am one night in May, and 2023 was almost equally as pants, here's to 2025; likely another god-awful year for thunder. Bring back our plumes!

Happy New Year to everyone on Netweather. Fingers crossed 2025 gives some good storms to those of us that want the storms. And let's hope we get more sunshine. I don't think I can recall a year as dull as 2024.

I decided to put together a compilation of some of my best lightning video captures over my last 20 years of storm chasing. I can't believe it's been 20 years already since I started. Anyway, hope you enjoy.
