ChannelThunder The heart attack was followed by me secretly willing it slightly further North and West for a more direct hit...

LightningLover looks like it has done just that on this morning's runs, although it's a little less potent. Still, it's too far away for details at this stage.

Storms travelling across the Irish Sea currently, could be an interesting day with Tornado warnings in the South and a potential supercell forming.

It's been lively start to the day in southern Ireland and now on the tip of south Wales south west.

Nice to see something lively on the radar after months of benign nothing-ness.

Increase in strikes from this in the channel, and looking forward heading in my direction.

Just gone nuts for about 5min. Brief power cut and very heavy rain and wind!

Only one noticeable flash of lightning but there's plenty of strikes being recorded in and around.

Again as is often the way, it’s just a big wet mess coming this way now. Little in the way of discrete cell activity.

Alderc 2.0 Annoys me when they say "mini tornado"! No such thing. It's either a tornado or not! 🙄 looks like EF0 or EF1 strength

Alderc 2.0 Ergh "Mini" Tornado. 😡

I wish they'd just call it what it is. A TORNADO. It's like the british media run a concerted effort to deny the fact we get Tornados every year. Like they don't quite believe it or something, even when the facts speak for themselves. Anyway...

Funnily enough a friend just texted me and said this passed two miles away from his parents house in Cornwall.😱  It's made the news. Caused quite a bit of damage.

This is a video i took earlier of the torrential rain and winds all the visibility went before the video and the roads became rivers before clearing up to sunshine

There was hail too & recorded on a bus in Plymouth coming from Derriford Hospital to City Centre

Robert1981 i only saw a couple of flashes to the east of Plymouth but on radar it exploded apparently 🤩

Was a bit gutted it didn’t give me a full blown storm

The roads became rivers and i assume if i was walking in that i would not only be livid but feel like i was swimming 😂

Looking a lot more interesting in terms of the very small cyclonic low moving through England. Excuse my bad drawing skills but the lines show the paths of the Arome, GFS, GEM, Arpege, Icon and WRF models. If it plays out we could see a small area of intense winds 70mph+ and heavy rain. This also reminds me of the October 31st 2021 event which caused multiple tornadoes over a swath of the south coast to the coastline of Norfolk, this event had non-zero cape but high 0-1km SRH. This event also has very high LLS and I really would not be surprised if a few tornadoes arose.
