178.2 mm, 270% of 1991-2020 long term average.  I've been keeping records in the locality for 40 years.

My records are submitted to the Climatological Observers Link, (COL)

However my records are in a mess, so if anyone needs to correct  that it was  (not), the wettest month in the area, past 40 years, please do.

Thanks for that Shun.  I've checked 2008 Sept, Warstock on the COL database.  It was 148mm {218%).

if you have knowledge of any station in the Birmingham area recording a total of 178.2mm or more in ANY month of the year, I would be pleased to know.

I've just received an answer to a copilot request on Bing, that September 2024 was Coleshill (met office) stations wettest month on record  178.2mm 270%.

Wettest month of recent times here is June 2007 with 175.0mm. Months above 100mm I'd class as wet and anything above 150mm becomes exceptional.

133.8mm last month which is 3rd wettest September and wettest since 1883.

Thanks for that.

Correction to my earlier post about Coleshill Sept 24 data.  Of course, this hasn't been released yet.

For unknown reasons, my question to Bing Copilot of 'what was the rainfall at Coleshill, West Midlands in sept 24?', returned values corresponding to my own data,!; I think it had detected  in my 1154 hours post on this website!

Just done another search on Bing, copilot, and it has come up with June 2012 142.6mm as Coleshill's wettest month (up to end August 24, I guess.)

I used slightly different words in my search.

I've not been able to find September 2024 for Coleshill 03535  rainfall data on the web.

Any pointers?

It really has been beautiful! So many days of guaranteed sun, it’s going to be a bit of a shock to the system when we see clouds / rain at the weekend!
