October 1971 "Indian Summer" spell

There was a pleasant spell of weather for parts of the UK from about 21st-24th October 1971 described as an "Indian summer" by the media

A very similar setup to the very warm days near the start of October 2023; high pressure centered over France and low pressure systems out in the Atlantic west and north of the UK, bringing in a very warm airmass.

A look at the date records on TORRO and 1971 does pop up. Second warmest 23rd October with 21.5C in Cheltenham and 22.1C 24th October in Norfolk, a date record.
