I now have snow falling albeit mixed with rain and a temp now of 3.3C. Quite surprised to be honest.

Snow already beginning to thaw, but was a nice surprise to see some this morning. It's been the first November snowfall here in quite some time (can't remember the last time we had settling snow at this time of the year). Hopefully we'll see more snow in the coming months, though I wouldn't get my hopes up.

northwestsnow Amazed you didn't see decent snow at your altitude, on the other side of the Pennines 10cms fell around Sheffield at 100meters.

Don't mention the damn MetO, had me down for 7 hours of snow right up to 6pm last night, only changed their mind and followed the ECM at the last minute.

Didn't see a flake.

Penrith Snow  MetO did exactly what they should have done with battleground warm/cold.

Airing the side of caution of forecasting snow is much, much better than the opposite. Forecast is for safety, not for hobbyists.

I'll bet my garden shed we don't get thunder snow and lightning for our area tonight like the met office says.

The Data just doesn't add up...

🤞😄😁

HarvSlugger not sure if UKv can be trusted much after it's performance for this morning's weather. 🫣

Other models have that low going well south of us into France... That's probably the most likely sadly, do any other models have that feature that ukv has?

From my 60+ years spent weather-watching, predicting snowfall has (except when maxes are at about +1C or less) always been a nowcasting exercise. 🤔

 Penrith Snow

Andy it's the rain shadow ,basically anything frontal with east winds ahead of it is poor for here.

kasim and the peak district crew gobble up all the precip...

steveinsussex Surely that's a bit of an exaggeration, as long as a model is showing it, it possible, but just a very low chance?

northwestsnow that's exactly what I get! I know how you feel, didn't see a flake from the beast from the east because of Brecon beacons
